JEANNE BIRD MAKES A MODERN QUILT

Today I want to show you Jeanne Bird’s latest quilt.  This is what Jeanne says about it: “I am glad you like the quilt. The pattern is called Off Track- by Allison Harris-Her company--Cluck Cluck Sew ( I Loved That One). I emailed her and told her that I had fun with her pattern - She is really nice. Anyway a Jelly roll can be used-- It is all 2 1/2 " Strips. I cut all the strips myself. I have a June Tailor plastic template, which can cut 8 -- 2 1/2" strips at a time. I love tools and got this one from my husband for Christmas. What a time saver. I am going to take it to be quilted tomorrow, after I show the girls at the Tuesday Bee (at the Attic Window Quilt Shop). It is okay to post this. I would love to see someone else do this pattern with their own color way. I will be doing another modern quilt -The bright colors were very uplifting. You have me going in quite a different direction with my quilting. Your blog drew me in. Thank you.”

This is another picture that Jeanne sent me.  I thought you’d enjoy it.  Jeanne said: “You can post Seamus's party. The cake stand is musical and we put 2 large dog biscuits on a silver platter with candles. We sang fast -was afraid he would gab for the bones and burn his beard. He is a Kerry BlueTerrier and they are so much fun.”
This is another beautiful picture that Jeanne shared with me.  Jeanne said: “Thought you might like to see the sunset over our lake tonight.”

Scenes like this make me realize how much I love Michigan!  Thanks Jeanne for sharing your pictures with us.  I love your quilt and would love to make one like it.  You are an inspiration.  Give Seamus a hug for me.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:   Sew Mama Sew has a tutorial for a New Modern Block.  I really have to try this one.

ALSO: The Improvisational Quilts of Susan Allen Hunter are being featured at the Grand Rapids Art Museum.

PS:  I'm linking up to Confessions of a Fabric Addict today.

Until next time,
