HAVE YOUR TRIED THIS TECHNIQUE FOR 1/2 SQUARE TRIANGLES?

I have some more items to show you from the Saturday Sampler class at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  First of all I want to show you my block for this month.  I never did show you a picture of what it was supposed to look like and, as usual, I didn’t get my block finished until the night before class.  What I am eager to show you is how it was done.
Included in our kit last month were four pieces of paper from a packet like this.  You can find these wonderful helpers at the Attic Window Quilt Shop in two different sizes.
Since I have trouble with accurate piecing, I was anxious to see if these were going to be of help.  The instructions said to take two squares of fabric, place them facing each other with the paper on top and sew on the dotted lines.
Above is my sewn piece.  This is a wonderful way to make a zillion half squares triangles in no time at all.
Then you cut on the straight lines, tear off the paper, and iron.  You get eight half square triangles from each square of paper.
Here is one of my perfect squares.  I was delighted with how my block turned out.  I didn’t have to un-stitch once!  I would highly recommend this method if you have lots of half square triangles to make.
Above is a picture of what our blocks should look like this month. I may have to get some more of those packets of papers.

I have tried similar techniques, and they are great. I love how accurate everything comes out.
