VICKIE S. HAS SPECIAL SHOWING

According to Wikipedia a trunk show “is an event in which vendors present merchandise directly to store personnel….etc.”   The Happy Scrappers may not have been store personnel but this was an event and a truck show sounds more dignified and befitting to what we saw at our recent meeting.  We were so blessed because Vickie, a fellow Happy Scrapper and now teacher of our Lone Star Swirl Quilt, brought in several of her quilts to show us!  Above is a McKenna Ryan wall hanging that Vickie made and had hanging at her cottage.
This is a close up.  I am amazed!

I don't think these last three are McKenna Ryan patterns.  They are from a class that Vickie took and were appliqued with the needle turn method.

Vickie also had some strip quilts to show us.
Vickie said she made this in the 90s when color wash first came out.
To finish up she showed us this darling red/black/white quilt
I had to show you this close up.  Who wouldn’t love such an adorable kitten in their quilt!

Thank you Vickie for sharing.  We all drooled over these beautiful quilts and are trying to convince Vickie to teach us how she did the raw edge appliqué as soon as our Lone Star Swirls are finished!

IF YOU HAVEN’T HEARD
:
  • THE QUILTER’S ROAD TRIP is the month of April.  Twelve shops are participating.  Passports are $5.  Each shop chose a different month for its wallhanging.  Chris chose January because she loves snowmen.  Secretly she’s afraid we’ll all be made at her for choosing snowmen since we are so sick of snow here in Michigan.  I don’t think she needs to worry because that snowman is so darn cute!  Patterns and kits are available for purchase.
ON ANOTHER NOTEThe Intrepid Thread has a free pattern for a Dreamcatcher quilt.

Until next time,

Stay Calm! Stay Kind! Stay Positive!

Great virtual trunk show Caroll--next best thing to being there with you, thanks! And I love all of your swirls--GOT to make one of those someday!!
All is well and busy on this side of the big pond and hoping life is sunny your way, too. :o) Hugs from Germany, Bobbi
