QUILTS AT ART PRIZE

Every year my daughter and I go down to Art Prize.  This event has become well known world wide.  I love this picture.  One of the buildings is all glass and mirrors other buildings in the area.  Couldn't resist showing  you this.  I am happy to tell you fellow quilters that Northwood Awakening, a PhotoFiber piece won grand price.  You can learn about it and see the process here.
My daughter and I enjoyed the beautiful sunny day as we walked over six miles around Grand Rapids.
We saw lots of musicians and yes, this one is playing his guitar, blowing on a harmonica, and twirling a hoola hoop!
My daughter was impressed by this work because it was all done with the tips of the artists fingers.
I was thrilled when I saw more quilts entered into the competition.  Above is by Paula Kovarik.
This is a close up of the quilt.
This is another quilt entered in the competition.  Check out all of that free motion quilting in it.
This is a little closer view.

I thought maybe these pictures would inspire you to cut loose and create.  Maybe you'll come up with something to enter into next year's Art Prize.

What a fun day! Thanks for sharing some photos. I could look at the quilting in the last piece for hours. Such wonderful detail.
