LOTS OF NEW INFORMATION

The evening group of the Quilt Block Cookbook BOM met Monday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above, Vickie and Robin show us their blocks that they made during this past month.
The block they will be working on this month is Sun Kissed, recipe No. 24.

This block has eight outside pointy blocks, and the book instructs you to paper piece them.  You might want to try this handy Creative Grids tool instead.  It is the Strippy Stars Tool and allows you to strip piece these blocks.  And for future projects, it allows you to make these star points in 8 different sizes!  You can get your tool at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

News:  The evening group has been meeting for the past year and this was our final meeting.  The day time group has elected to continue meeting and make more blocks.  If you would like to participate please feel free to join the day time group. OR you can participate as a "pick up."  This means you can pick up your kit each month any time after the fourth Wednesday of the month.  HOWEVER, you will need to pay in advance so that we know how many kits to cut.  It is not fair to Cathy and I to spend our time making kits, only to have them stare back at us month after month because no one has picked them up.  Also, it is not fair to the Shop to cut into fabric that is never used.  What a waste!  So please, just pay in advance.  For instance, the month that you pick up your block, pay in advance for the next month's block. If you do this each time, we will know exactly how many kits we should make available.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP
  • Several wonderful quilters have donated scraps to the shop, hoping that maybe the Charity group could use them.  What the Charity group really needs is batting.  So your scraps are being bagged and sold to customers.  ALL of the money made from these bags of scraps goes to the Charity group to purchase batting.  Check out these big bags the next time you are in the shop.  Maybe you could use some scraps.
  • The shop will return to Fall hours on September 1.  Friday, 10-6; Saturday, 10-5.
  • Don't forget to pick up your passport for the The Country Fair Road Tour of 2017 held October 12, 13, & 14.

Love the sun block. Great idea to have everyone pay ahead - it's only fair!
