I HAVE A FRIEND IN YOU!

This has been a week of wonderful surprises.  Yesterday, I received a package in the mail.  When Lynn of Alamosa Quilter said she was sending me some centers for my paper pieced log cabin blocks, I figured she would put a couple squares of fabric in an envelope and mail them to me.  Instead today I received this heavy package.
When I opened it, I found this whole pile of awesome squares.  I was so shocked!  The thoughtfulness of quilters never ceases to amaze me.  Lynn and I are both posting about our Modern Monday Quilt Along blocks.  She is the one I send you too each Monday to see how her block looks.  One day when Lynn and I were emailing back and forth, I mentioned that a couple people on line wanted to trade squares to make this paper pieced block.  She said she had some squares to contribute.  I never imagined such an awesome pile!
Then to my surprise, there was something else in the package.  Lynn had included this darling thread catcher.  Here it is next to my sewing machine with the pile of squares that Lynn sent.  I love this much-needed item and it will get lots of use.  I bet my friends will appreciate it too as I can take this to the shop with me or to other places I go to sew and toss my stray threads into the thread catcher rather than on the floor!  Lynn, I can’t thank you enough for your thoughtfulness.  I will share your gift with my fellow paper pieced log cabin square makers and I’m sure they thank you too!

There is a Friendship Blog Hop going on now.  I saw this “awesome” pillow on The Peacock Tree blog and thought wouldn’t it look cute on my college age granddaughter’s bed in her dorm?  Check it out and check out all the other blogs and tutorials in the hop.  There is a list of participants toward the end of the post.

Also check out Peas In A Pod post about our friend Allie's (Of Allie Oops Designs) new pattern business.

Until next time,

Stay Calm! Stay Kind! Stay Positive!

  4. What a lovely gift!! You will love that thread catcher, I have one that a friend made me and I LOVE it. Especially when I'm doing hand embroidery - I have a tendency to throw the short ends of floss right next to the ones I'm going to use next, and keep picking up the wrong ones, lol.

I haven't seen Stephanie's post, wow, was I surprised to see my name in your post, lol! I'll have to go check her out right now!

  5. I'm so glad you like the thread catcher! Yes, I made it. I keep several made up and ready to give as gifts to my sewing friends.

I have a shoe box full of 4.5" squares of mostly novelty prints. I sent you enough squares that I can now put the lid on the box properly. So thanks for helping me out - LOL!
