BET YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS!

The Happy Scrappers met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  There was lots for show-n-tell so I may break this topic into two separate posts.  First off, I want to show this stunning quilt that Vickie made.  We are all still in awe at its beauty and are begging her to teach us how to do something like this.

Above is a close-up.  Vickie said that this is the second quilt she made from this pattern and that she has learned a lot by doing so.  The pattern is from the book, Lone Star Quilts & Beyond by Jan Krentz.

Vickie has also been working on her focus square paper pieced log cabin blocks.  Check out the stack at the right!

Cathy brought hand sewing to work on today.  What fun to sew and talk and laugh with friends.

This is her cute little wall hanging with the 3D flying geese in the borders.  Isn’t it darling!

Cathy (that’s her on the right) showed us her Women of Courage quilt that she recently completed.  She participated in the Women of Courage BOM this past year at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Cathy has done a fantastic job on this quilt!

Judi A. showed us all these cute little pins that she made.  She said she wore a different one each day to work.

This is a close-up of her adorable frog.

Don’t you just love this charming little lady with the delightful hat?  I’ll show you more of Judi’s handiwork in tomorrow’s post.

I recently asked for more blocks to be contributed to the charity quilt.  Above, Vickie shows us this darling block she made during Bee today.

Catherine made these two lovely blocks today at Bee and is contributing them to the charity quilt.  Thank you Vickie and Catherine.  I love your blocks and they will help to make a beautiful quilt!

Yvonne showed us this winning quilt that she made using 30s fabrics and quilted herself.

Last but not least, is Adrienne with her good-looking blocks.  She said this is a low value quilt.  We are in awe at how this quilt is turning out because Adrienne usually uses only bright colored fabrics.  She said that she is making this quilt to try to teach herself that there are colors other than “brights.”  She also said she needs to learn that there is another color other than lime green.  Whatever her reason, I’m impressed and now am anxious to give it a try myself.  Adrienne said that she has no pattern and just cuts squares or rectangles and sews them together.  Whatever technique she is using, this is going to be a striking quilt.
