MORE FROM SHIPSHEWANA RETREAT

I have 36 pictures from our retreat at Shipshewana in Indiana to show you so I think I better split them up.  I’ll show half today and the rest tomorrow.  Somehow I lost my notes and my mind because when I read what notes I could find I discovered that I had no idea which little description went with what picture.  Consequently I’ll just show you the pictures and only make comments on those that I know are correct.

I do remember a little about the above quilt because it is paper pieced.  The woman who did this lovely quilt graciously shared a piece of the paper and her design for making this quilt.  She said she used deli paper (the kind between cheese slices) that she had purchased from Gordon's Foods as the foundation.  "It is easier to remove," she said.  She also said that having one consistent strip across the rectangle helped to create the design.  She also put a three inch square in each center.

Mary Alice made this shaggy messenger bag.
Anne B. of Howell made this darling coat and hat for her granddaughter Zoe.

There were so many lovely quilts that I couldn't decide which to show, so I'm going to show you all that I took.  I'll post the rest tomorrow.

  1. My favorite quilt is the 4th photo from the end. I finally found out the name of it: Love Letters BOM by Sherri Falls of This and That.
