A CLASS AND ANOTHER STORY

I stopped in at the shop Friday to get some pictures of Vickie’s Bargello class.  Above,Vicki S. shows me the quilt that she is using to demonstrate the process for making this quilt.
As I have said before, Vickie is a wonderful teacher.  She is detailed and explains on her board what to do, step-by-step.  Note the strips of paper above.  Vickie distributed these to help everyone understand and know where they should cut their strata.
When you attend one of Vickie’s classes, you not only get wonderful instructions, but tips as well.  Do you know what this metal bar on the ironing board is used for?  You’ll have to take a class from Vickie to find out.
When I arrived, the women were busy sewing their strata.  Above, Julie B. checks her seams.
Rosa is busy ironing her seams.  I have a little story to tell  you about Rosa.

Picture this:  I have just parked my car at the grocery store.  The lot is full and I parked a distance away from the main entrance.  I needed to get steps on my Fit Bit anyway.  The walk was slightly up hill and I found myself huffing and puffing.  When I came to the main drive in front of the store, I dashed across the road because a car was coming.  Once at the entrance my phone rang.  I pulled it out of my pocket and headed into the store, breathing rather heavily.  I didn't check to see who was calling, since my daughter calls me every day at about that time.  I breathed in and out and said a breathy "Hello,"  Silence.  Again, still panting, I said, "Hello."   The person on the other end of the line said, "Are you having sex?"

It was Rosa who had called to see when I was coming to the shop!  I almost fell over laughing right there in the vegetable isle. That Rosa, you gotta love her!
Barb was busy sewing at her machine.
Lee Anne does some ironing on her strata.
Nancy is sewing on one of her many strips.
Jill is busy ironing her strata.
This is the quilt that Vickie made and had at the shop.  Isn't it stunning!

Stop by tomorrow and I'll show you pictures of the progress made on day two of this workshop.
