APPLIQUE SOCIETY MEETS AT ATTIC WINDOW

Do you know that the Applique Society meets the first Monday of each month at the Attic Window Quilt Shop?  Since I could not make it to the meeting I asked Adrienne to take pictures and get information for us. This is what she wrote: "Above is Lynn A.'s block Colmar from Quiltmania magazine.... a really amazing publication from France. It is a block of the month which has only four blocks. The tiny purple circles and vines are all embroidered, it is stunningly intricate work, and the most astonishing thing of all is that Lynn has only been quilting for 18 months!"
"Joan B. working hard on the second border of her Friends of Baltimore quilt. So far she has done 8 of the 16 blocks. This photo doesn't do the workmanship justice. It is beautifully executed needle turn."
"Sandy Z. shows the first block of 16 from Baltimore Album all in traditional reds and greens. The patterns are by Mary Mannakee."
"Catherine M. is holding up two blocks she has done from her project Ladies of The Sea. There are 16 in this quilt also....seems to be a popular number for this group. She said there is a Mariners Compass in the four corners as well."
"And here is Olivia L. showing us her amazing quilt done in the style of Harriet Powers, a slave who worked using the primitive style, for her bible themed blocks. Olivia started this many years ago but just recently finished it.

It was a busy Monday night at the Attic Window with lots of chatter and stitching going on. If you would like to join us, we meet on the first Monday of each month from 7-9 p.m."

Thank you Adrienne for sending these pictures and giving us all this information.  You are a great reporter!
