HAPPY SCRAPPERS STARTING THE YEAR OFF RIGHT!

The Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Wednesday and we had such a good time.  A couple of new people came this week.  Above is Cathy who was working on a Trip Around The World.
And this is Pat. She was working on machine applique.
I hope these women come back when we meet again on the second Wednesday of every month.
Adrienne was full of ideas to share with us.  Above she holds this little item that she made in five minutes.
This is her opened project.  She said she uses it as a needle keeper but mostly for collecting those little strands of threads that collect as she sews when she is traveling.  What a great idea!
Adrienne also showed us what she does with leftover batting.  Any left over batting she cuts into squares of various sizes, keeping similar sizes stacked together in one pile.
Then she uses her scraps of various widths to quilt as you go across the batting squares.
Then she sews the squares together.
And makes a quilt like this.  I love it and the fact you are using your scraps of batting and fabric. Nothing goes to waste!
This is a closer look at her blocks. Adrienne said this is a charity quilt.
Above, Chris (left) shows Carol P. how to do something on the crib sheet she was making for a new grandchild!  Congratulations Carol!
Mary kept busy all day sewing her 30's fabrics into a quilt for charity.  I wonder how many charity quilts she makes a year.  She is always busy sewing and gets so much done!
Cathy M. made the above paper pieced pineapple blocks.  Pretty!
And I spent the day talking and catching up with everyone about their holidays.  It was so nice to be together with fellow quilters again.  When I wasn't socializing I worked on these.  It is a charity quilt I'm making. It was a fantastic day and I'm looking forward to next month.  All are welcome to join us!
