A LITTLE PRACTICE AND A REMINDER

This really isn't anything to look at, but I wanted to show you the practice piece that I did at the Machine Applique Class at the Attic Window Quilt Shop last week.  On the left is another piece drawn out and layered with stabilizer and ready for me to practice more.  I really need it too!  Those points are murder and "turning right take a bite" is hard to remember (which way am I turning now?).  But like they say, practice makes perfect.  I doubt that I will ever be perfect, but Chris's class at the Attic Window is fantastic.  She helped me so much. Not only does she give great instructions, but she gave me little hints and sayings to help me remember what to do.  Hopefully, I'll be able to finish LeeAnne's BOM soon.

Also, I just want to remind everyone that the Happy Scrappers meet this Saturday, September 25th at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Not sure how long I will be able to stay as I'm dog sitting my son's Boxer who is very needy right now.

Don't forget, the Special at the shop this month is Buy One Book at regular price and get a second book for 30% off.  What a deal!

Be sure and stop in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and check out all the new items.  The shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

Hugs, Caroll

  1. I always loved satin stitch machine applique. It does take some practice to make it look nice. I haven’t done it very often in a long time. I started doing raw edge applique on small items. It looks to me like you have a good handle on the technique. And yes, practice makes perfect...or near perfect. Enjoy your practice.
