AUGUST SAMPLER MEETING HELD AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

The August meeting for the 2013 Sampler Series was held Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  This was the first of many of these meetings during the month, so if you missed this one, check the calendar or call the shop for another time you can attend.  Above are the blocks we will be making this month.
Did you see those Hour Glass blocks?
Chris had a demo showing us a couple easy ways to make this block.
Judy R. made this fabulous quilt by artistically arranging many UFO blocks to create a stunning look.
This is a close up of Judy with her quilt.  What an inspiration.
Judy hand quilted this quilt which even makes it more special.  What a project.  I forgot to ask her how long it took.
Chris showed us Barb David’s new quilt.  I got so excited when I saw it I forgot to ask if there was going to be a class or if the pattern is available.  Call the shop if you are interested.

DON’T FORGET:
  • Happy Scrappers meets Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Chris will be giving a demo on how to paper piece in a way that will save fabric.
  • AQS Quilt Week is the week of August 14-17 at DeVos Place Convention Center.  The Attic Window will have a vendor booth, so be sure and stop by.
ON ANOTHER NOTEThe Quilt Engineer has posted a pattern for a clam shell quilt.  There are two different sizes.  Check it out.

Until next time,

Stay Calm! Stay Kind! Stay Positive!

  1. That is a really neat way to make hourglass units. The bias edges can be troublesome, but starching before cutting can help.
