LOOK WHAT ELSE YOU CAN DO WITH THAT FREE PATTERN

Remember yesterday when I showed you the link to the free Color Fun Daisies by Linda Sullivan?  Marcy W. sent me a picture of this quilt that she made from that pattern.  This is what she wrote:

“I have the flower quilt too! I bought 2 kits and added extra fabric. My daughter and I had fun making this one together. I just finished mine last week!”

Thank you Marcy for sharing with us.  What a stunning quilt! I love it when people share their projects with us.

Despite the beautiful sunshine today, I did go to my sewing room and make a mug rug.  Above is my attempt at free motion quilting on the first flower.
Above, all of the flowers are quilted.
Then I added the two boarders.  I would never have thought of putting these colors together.  When I saw it in the book I thought I’d give it a try.  I rather like them together, don’t you?
And, here it is on my coffee table with my favorite mug from the library.  This little project was so quick and easy to make.  The pattern is Carpet of Flowers from the book Love To Sew Mug Rugs by Christa Rolf.  You can find it at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:
  • A Crafty Fox has a tutorial for a way to sew hexagons to make a chevron pattern.

Until next time,

  2. Very cute! I love the sketched quality the quilting adds. Looks great on your coffee table.
