MOD SQUAD, PILLOWCASES, AND CATS

The Mod Squad met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  I don’t think much modern sewing got done, but we did do a lot of other sewing.  Above Diana and her beautiful daughter Brianna (I posted about her here) worked on Brianna’s Halloween costume.  She’s going as a black cat.  We all had a laugh at that as they were working on white fur for the costume.  Black Cat is from the Spider-Man comic book series. She was at one time Spider-Man's girl friend...introduced in 1979.  I hope Diana sends us a picture.
Adrienne worked on applique with her new applique tools.
Chris had a beginner's quilting class going and I snapped a picture of her with one of her students.  Chris is a great teacher and I still ask her lots of quilting questions.  I know I will get great instructions.
Cathy M. was unpacking and getting ready to sew when I noticed this new bag that she had just made.  It is big enough to hold a long ruler and most of her sewing items.  Don't you just love the fabrics that she used!
Rosa was busy putting pillowcase kits together and sewing pillowcases.  These pillowcases will be distributed to Veteran's in Hospice on Veteran's Day.
So Cathy (above) and I got busy and helped make pillowcases.
These are just a few of the pillowcases (the ones we made today) waiting to be distributed.  Several people in the past few weeks have taken home some of the kits that Rosa put together.  And some of you have been using your own fabrics to make these pillowcases.  Rosa asked me to remind you that she will be picking up pillowcases at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Saturday October 31.  Please drop your pillowcases off at the shop prior to that date.  Rosa said that there will not be a Scrapper's Schoolhouse meeting in November.

HAPPENING THIS WEEK:

Looks like a fun day, if not a modern-sewing one. Love to see what everyone at AWQS is working on!
