NEW FABRIC AND FAT QUARTERS BY THE YARD AT AWQS

I don't know about you, but after all the bad news on TV this weekend, I need some cheering up and this is just the thing to do it!  New fabric is in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  These fabrics are Shades of Summer by Riley Blake.

I hope I have this right, but from what I understand these fabrics come on the bolt as fat quarters.  If you purchase one yard you get four fat quarters.  The first picture on this blog shows the yardage choices along with 2-1/2" strip rolls and 5" charm squares.  And these are the fat quarters to go with them.  This should be fun!!  Be sure and check this out!

Also, be sure and check out the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Facebook.  Jill is now updating it regularly with more fun things to see and read about.

From what I understand the shop is open.  If you still don't want to come into the shop yet, you can place an order over the phone or email, and schedule a time to come by to pick your order up.  Temporary store hours for the next few weeks are Monday-Thursday, 10-5; Friday and Saturday, 10-3.  The phone number for the shop is 616-785-3357.  Or you can email Chris at BrownAttic@aol.com.

REOPENING DAY IS HERE

At last!  The Attic Window Quilt Shop is reopening.  Here is what Chris has to say about it:  "A special Blessed Big Thank You to all of you who have helped and supported me through this time.  I love you all!  The reopening day is here!  Please call to make an appointment time so we can follow the guidelines that we have to follow.  If you still don't want to come into the shop yet, we can do pickups, or we can do a special time for just you! We can also do special delivery! We have temporary store hours for the next few weeks, Monday - Thursday, 10-5; Friday and Saturday, 10-3.  I hope everyone had a blessed Memorial Day.  Hope to see you soon.  Love, Chris."
I'm  so thankful that things are finally getting back to normal....well a little bit normal.  You will want to stop in at the shop to take a look at these two sets of fabrics in the above pictures. They have been added to the sale items.  Remember, the sale fabrics are $8 a yard or only $6 a yard if you finish the bolt.  What a deal!

CATHY AND MARJORIE SHARE LATEST FINISH

Hello Quilters!  Recently some fellow quilters sent me pictures of their accomplishments.  They haven't been just sitting around twiddling their thumbs! You will probably see the above quilt soon when we Happy Scrappers can meet again at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. Cathy M. has been working hard during this "stay at home" time.
Cathy took part in the Bee In My Bonnet Granny's Garden Sew Along, which started in early October. She made four blocks a week.  The quilt above has thirty of those blocks in it.
Cathy is using the other ten blocks, of the remaining 12, to make this unique wall hanging. This is Cathy's original idea.  How cute!
Above is one of the blocks.  This quilt is stunning and I can't wait to see it in person.  Thanks Cathy for sharing with us.
Marjorie, our reader from Utah, sent us this picture of her latest finish.  This is what she said:

"This is what I have been doing.  I finished the Daisy Chain.  Cutting the strips 2-1/2. Worked out great; made the center blocks 6-1/2.  So everything fit perfectly.
My design wall isn't big enough so I photographed it on the floor .The backing is the bright lime green with yellow bananas.
The middle blocks were supposed to have left and right facing monkeys.  But I didn't want all those monkeys so I cut the cherries instead.  I have one monkey block!

My next project needs to be my state fair challenge quilt.  I am reluctant to start because many of the county fairs are being cancelled. So the state fair could be cancelled if the virus persists.

Stay safe my friends and keep the faith that this virus will be tamed soon.

Happy stitching from Utah."

Thank you Marjorie for sharing your beautiful quilt with us.  I can't imagine all the work that went into making that quilt!

DON'T FORGET: You can call the Attic Window Quilt Shop to make an appointment for curbside pickup or place an order and Chris will ship to you.  You can call the shop at 616-785-3357 or send Chris an email at BrownAttic@aol.com

Happy Mother's Day!  This is a difficult one since we can't hug our loved ones, but the Attic Window Quilt Shop has something to make us feel better.  Chris told me she has 140 bolts of fabric on sale!  Above are just some of the fabrics.  I'll explain about the tags in a minute.  But first I wanted to show you some more sale fabrics.

A LITTLE OF THIS AND THAT

Hello Quilters!  Have you heard that you can still make purchases at the Attic Window Quilt Shop?  As you know the shop is closed due to the pandemic but you can still place an order.  Chris said that you can do curbside pickup or she will ship to you.  Just call her at the shop or email her at BrownAttic@aol.com.

What have you been doing?  I saw a tutorial on Freemotion By The River  for a Morning Glory block.  I had to try it (above picture).  I love flowers and this looked like a good way to use my scraps.  Now I'm trying to decide if I should make these three into a table runner or continue making flowers and make a quilt.
I also finished this washing machine topper for my son's cottage.
This is a closeup of the fabrics.  I love these bright colors.
And I've been making masks for my grandchildren.

Made some for the Michigan State fans.
And made some for those who went to University of Michigan.

Next week I hope to start quilting some of those UFOs that have been stuffed in the corner.  What have you been doing?

A GREAT GIFT IDEA FOR YOU

Hello quilting friends.  I hope you are well and taking advantage of the sales at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Cathy M. sent me these pictures.  This is what she said:  "Jeny's (her daughter) MIL asked if I could make pillows for the granddaughters of her best friend who passed away suddenly.  Cindy (MIL) wanted the pillows to have a pocket to insert pictures of their grandmother."  Above are the pillows.
Cathy inserted pictures of her grandchildren just to show us how the pillows would look.
This is another picture of one of the pillows.  Cathy said, "I made a large pocket to handle several pictures.  I was thinking this is a great idea for a family.  It might be a good graduation gift too, for the kids missing their big school events this year."   What a great idea.  These pillows could be used for so many different occasions.  Thanks for sending pictures Cathy, and for the fantastic idea!

IMPORTANT: As you know the Attic Window Quilt Shop is closed due to the pandemic but you can still place an order. Chris said that you can do curbside pickup or she will ship to you.  Just call her at the shop or email her at BrownAttic@aol.com.

I SPY YOU NEEDING QUILTING SUPPLIES. CALL THE ATTIC WINDOW NOW!

Marilyn sent me some pictures and I'm having a hard time deciding what to show you first.  She is one busy lady.  She made the above I Spy book.  She said that she made it from one of the panels at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

This panel makes an adorable book!
Marilyn also made this bag.  She used the All About The Bees fabric that you can get at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.
This is the inside of the bag.  Check out all those pockets.  Marilyn makes the best bags.

I apologize to all who have sent pictures that I put on the blog.  Today when I went back through the blog looking for the name of a fabric, I noticed all the pictures were gone!  THANKS BLOGGER.  I was so mad.  I knew it happened to one post but not all of them.  Grrrrrr.  When I was told by Blogger that the problem was fixed I thought it was only that one post with the problem.  Gads.  I'm so sorry for all of you who sent pictures that disappeared.

IMPORTANT: As you know the Attic Window Quilt Shop is closed due to the pandemic but you can still place an order. Chris said that you can do curbside pickup or she will ship to you.  Just call her at the shop or email her at BrownAttic@aol.com.
