HELP PLEASE!

A reader recently asked me for help.  I could not answer her question, but hope that maybe you can help her.  This is what Louann D. said:

"I attended the Craft Day this past Saturday, and there was talk about an easy cake recipe, but I forgot one ingredient."  Louann said it is for a Butterscotch Cake and this is all she remembers:

2 eggs, beat

1 Cup of prepared Butterscotch Pudding

( use a 4 pack of pudding cups, works really well)
Mix together
ADD & MIX  1 dry yellow cake mix
Pour into greased 9x13 cake pan.
TOP with 1/2 bag of butterscotch chips
and bag of Pecan chips
Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.

Louann said she believes she's missing one ingredient.
Can you help her?  If so, you can email me or answer this post.
Thanks, Caroll

ARE YOU THINKING CHRISTMAS GIFTS?

When at the Attic Window Quilt Shop the other day, I saw these bowl cozys.  The one above is for a larger bowl or plate.
And this one above is the traditional bowl cozy.
You can get a packet of bowl Cozy batting at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  This makes your Christmas sewing so much faster and easier!
I also saw this adorable fabric.  This is Harold the Hare by Susybee/Clothworks.
What child, grandchild, great grandchild wouldn't want this for a wall hanging or a quilt.
More coordinating Harold the Hare fabric.
Above is the border fabric.
And the fabric in this basket coordinates with the Harold The Hare fabric.  You can get it all at the Attic Window Quilt Shop

WE MADE KITCHEN SCARVES TODAY!

Say Hello to Pat R.  Pat came to sew with me today at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and we made Kitchen Scarves.  Above, Pat shows you the first kitchen scarf that she made today.
I love the fabrics that Pat chose for this adorable kitchen scarf.  The red fabric that goes around the neck says Ho Ho.  It is so cute!
Pat showed me the fabric and towel she is using on another scarf.
And this is another pair (fabric and scarf) that Pat intends to use in a kitchen scarf.  These make such nice gifts.
Pat is on a roll.  This is the second kitchen scarf that she made today.  And Pat has ideas for others.  She and I were talking and she remembers her father sitting with a towel over his shoulder when helping in the kitchen.  I thought, why not make a kitchen scarf for that man in the family who is always at the barbecue.  I can just see plaid fabrics and a towel that says "kiss the cook!"

While at the Attic Window Quilt Shop, don't forget to pick up your packet for LeeAnne's monthly applique blocks.

And when you look at the November calendar on the sidebar, you are probably wondering what a kitchen scarf is.  This is a picture of the kitchen scarf that my friend in Pennsylvania gave me.  I love it.  I never have to wonder where my towel is when I'm in the kitchen cooking.  Chris found a pattern for it so I hope you'll come make a kitchen scarf with me on Wednesday, Nov. 10th.  What a great Christmas gift or hostess gift it will make.

HAPPY SCRAPPERS DID IT AGAIN!

The Happy Scrappers met this past Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and I have a lot to show you.  Above is Vickie D. who gave us a wonderful demo on how to attach those last two pieces of binding.

I'll try to explain how she does this but I really think you had to be there.  Above Vickie explained how to press the two ends together.
You can see here how she used a clip to hold the one in place.

Above you can see how the two pieces meet.  She then marks the stitching lines on each fold with chalk.

Vickie uses this ruler and follows the steps on it to make her bindings meet.

She stressed that she always cuts her bindings with the mitered ends.  No flat straight edges.  I hope you can see above, that Vickie has her finger on the ruler and will cut that chalk line going the same way as the angle on the end of the binding strip.  Once the pieces are cut she sews them together.  This seam is a little larger than normal, but when it is sewn and pinned in place it fits perfectly.

A BIG THANK YOU to Vickie for showing us how to make our bindings look perfect!

BEFORE I FORGET ITHappy Scrappers will NOT meet in November because of Craft Days.  And we will NOT meet in December because of Christmas!  WE WILL meet again on the last Saturday of January 2022!

And now it's time for some  Show-n-Tell.  Above, Janalee shows us the quilt that she's been working on.  You've seen the blocks over the past few months.  She quilted it herself and used her scraps to make this beautiful quilt.
This is the back of the quilt.  I love how she pieced it.
Janey worked on some Twilling.  I love these blocks!
Above you can see the dark blue fabric that she will use as the narrow sashing and the blue and white piece of fabric will be the border.
Vickie showed us this quilt that she made.  Wonderful way to use your scraps!
Chris was trying to get us in the Halloween spirit!  So cute!
Janalee is busy working on another quilt for charity!  Love those fabrics.  She said she and Hattie made this Mosaic block from the Fat Quarter Style book.
This is Hattie.  Her new featherweight sewing machine.  Janalee said that she had an Aunt Hattie.
Mary was there too.  She really does accomplish a lot.  She brought in all these (19) bags to give to Cathy M. who fills them with personal items and they are donated to Dégagé Ministries.  A big Thank You to Mary!

A NEW QUILT FOR MY FAVORITE ONE-YEAR-OLD

It has taken me all day to do this post.  I made the mistake of putting on Windows 11 and for some reason that changed everything!  Yikes!  I finally got these pictures of my latest quilt resized and edited.  I bought this kit from the Attic Window Quilt Shop with intention of making it for my newest grandchild.  Well, he is now one year old and I've just finished it.

He has the Jungle theme in his room so I thought this fabric appropriate.

I backed it in this flannel.  I can just see him sitting on the couch with his father, snuggled in this quilt to stay warm.  I like using flannel.  It makes the quilt all snuggly and warm.  I may use flannel in the future.

On Another noteCathy M. has a big wooden square that fits over your ironing board for sale. It is perfect for ironing a large quilt.  If you are interested you can contact her at grlady1950@gmail.com.

One More Thing:  Don't forget:  Happy Scrappers meets this coming Saturday, October 30, at the Attic Window Quilt ShopVickie D. will be doing a special demo on binding.  You won't want to miss that!

You can also stop in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and check out all the new items.  The shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.
