HOW ARE YOU USING YOUR SCRAPS?

Hello fellow quilters.  I just wanted to touch base.  Not much going on at my house.  I did finish a scrap quilt this morning.  It is all quilted and bound.  Only once this picture was taken did I realize something is wrong with these blocks.  Oh, well, too late now.  It was a fun way to use up some of my scraps, even when I had to do so much unstitching.
This is a close up of the block and binding.  I hope the Charity group will accept it.

NEW SAMPLER SERIES AT ATTIC WINDOW

Above is the center block for the new Sampler series starting at the Attic Window Quilt Shop in March.
Above is just one of the log cabin blocks that go around the center.
This Sampler is called Forest Floor.  There will be four different Sampler classes offered at the Attic Window this year, all starting in March.  Vickie S. will be leading the Forest Floor and has chosen to use the luscious colors in the samples in the first pictures.
Getting To Know Hue is another one of the four Samplers being offered.
As you can see above, their are multiple backgrounds and colorways by Marcus being offered.
And if you don't want to do the lone star in the center, two other centers are available.
When I get pictures of the other two Samplers being offered I'll post pictures.  If you have any questions or want to sign up for one of these sessions, call the shop.

COOKBOOK HAS A NEW RECIPE

The P.M. meeting of the Quilt Block Cook Book BOM, met recently at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. Above, Robin, Dawn, Vicky show us their blocks.
The daytime meeting was held Wednesday and I'm sorry I can't name everyone who was there.  But look at their blocks!
More smiles and fun blocks.
This is the block we will be working on this month.  It is Recipe #5 True North in Amy Gibson's The Quilt Block Cookbook.
We had some show-n-tell too.  Julie S. made this beautiful quilt above.
Julie also made this baby quilt.  She said that both of these quilts are for the American Patchwork UFO Challenge.  She's on a roll!

    QUEEN ROXANNE AT ATTIC WINDOW

Roxanne is the queen this month at the Bees in The Attic Bee Hive at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above she holds up her cape so we can place our blocks on it.
Look at all these blocks we gave her.  This is going to be a stunning quilt and I can't wait to see it.  She said she will be making it for her son.
Barb is the Queen Bee next month and she want's us to make this block.  She distributed directions and fabrics for these two blocks.
Lee Anne had a newly finished quilt to show us.  This is adorable!
This quilt will be hanging at the shop.  Patterns are available.  I'm hoping she will be teaching a class because I want to learn to do that satin stitch around these cute little fused creatures.

    SHARING QUILTS

I have some new pictures to share with you.  Recently while at the Attic Window Quilt Shop Lois Bull came in with the above quilt.  Though it is not finished, I talked her into letting me take a picture of this adorable baby quilt that she is making for her niece.  Love it!

Cathy M. sent me a couple pictures of Pauline Woronko's Irish Chain quilts.  Love the red above.
And Pauline also made this one.  I can't imagine all the tiny pieces involved in making this stunning quilt.  Thanks Cathy for sending the pictures.
I don't think I shared this with you.  While at Happy Scrappers last week I played with half square triangles.  I think I'll make some more.

RECENTLY AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

When recently at the Attic Window Quilt Shop I noticed the above wall hanging.  I understand it is just part of the Farm Girls BOM quilt.  I love this!!
Diana showed us something new at the Shop.  Notice the marks on the cutting mat above.  It looks dirty, doesn't it?
Diana shows us how to clean that mat with a new tool in at the Shop.
You can see that it does a good job!
Stop in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and get the Cutting Mat Cleaner today!
This is the finished quilt that Cathy will show you how to make when you take her Valentine Project on Friday, Jan. 27.

    HAPPY SCRAPPERS HAVE FUN

The Saturday group of the Happy Scrappers met recently at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above, Adrienne (left) gets a quick lesson from Diana on how to make the Little Jewels tri-fold bag.
Above, Adrienne shows us her finished project.  I think I may have taken her an hour.
This is a close up of Adrienne's bag.  If you would like for Diana to teach you how to make them, give the shop a call.  Several different sizes are included in this one pattern.
Adrienne, who rarely uses a pattern, worked on this project next.
That was after she finished her low volume quilt.  She sure gets a lot done!
Lee Anne is working on this charm square quilt.
Cheryl worked on this colorful quilt.  It looks like a card trick pattern.
Jill worked on this quilt.  The middle is from a panel, but there is lots of work required on the borders.  Above, she shows us the first border that she made with Thangles.
Not sure what Vickie and Diana are up to.  (No good, maybe?)  I think Vickie was working on her Sampler quilt and Diana is doing some paper piecing that she will not let me see until it is completed.

    HEARTS ARE PUMPING!

It's that time of year again, time to start thinking about Valentine's Day.  Above is a place mat you can make for your loved one or just to decorate a table.  Cathy and I are teaching a dual class at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Friday, Jan. 27th from 10-3.  You can make this simple place mat that day or you can......
make this adorable wall hanging.  Cathy made a heart which fits on one of those little metal table frames that you can find in the shop.  Then she embellished it.
This is a closeup of the heart.  As a new grandma for the first time she couldn't resist putting six-week-old Tupper's picture in the heart.  She'll show you how to do that....or
She'll show you how to make several different hearts into a small blanket.  She didn't want me to take this picture because she hasn't added the binding and it needs to be pressed, but I talked her into it so I could show you all the opportunities you will have when you take our class on Friday, Jan. 27.  Call the shop to register and get your supply list.

    HAPPY SCRAPPERS MEET

The Happy Scrappers met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  It was so nice to see everyone again.  A lot of people couldn't attend during November and December due to the weather or visiting out of town or whatever.  You know how hectic that time of year is.  Today, the room was full and I loved seeing everyone and catching up.  Judi A. got a new Tablet for Christmas so she had to make a new bag for it.  Isn't it darling!
Cathy M. worked on her Farm Girls block.  It is a milk can.
Oma was busy making these cute little zipper bags.  I saw her later at the ironing board ironing batting for three more bags of various sizes.  I think she got quite a bit done that day.
Adrienne worked on what she said is her "low volume" quilt.  I love the way she puts fabric together. She has me all inspired so now I'm on the hunt for these low volume fabrics.
We had some show-n-tell too.  Above Mary G. shows us her latest quilt.  It is a disappearing nine patch.  She made it for a friend.
I caught Mary at the ironing board pressing her Farm Girl blocks.
Vickie S. spent a lot of time at the cutting table.
Carol also showed us this stunning quilt that she just got back from the quilter.  She said it was not a panel but the center was a piece of fabric cut off the bolt.
This is a closer shot of this beautiful quilt.  She said she had to go to several different stores to get the matching blue pieces for the borders.

I'm sorry I didn't get around to everyone to take pictures.  I was too busy talking.  We meet again on Saturday, so maybe I'll get pictures of more projects then.
