BEEN HAVING SOME FUN

Today I thought I could show you a couple of things I've been working on.  When making sample blocks for the Starburst BOM at the Attic Window Quilt Shop that I told you about here, and the start date got pushed back until September, I found I had time to play with the patterns in the book.  I put together some of the blocks and made a table runner.
Of course, I had to add some flowers on my own to fill in the space.
Then I tried some free motion quilting on the grass.  What fun.
I also made this fish quilt from the book Happy Quilts.  That book has so many cute projects in it.  I want to make them all.
This is a close up of one of the blocks.
The border fabric is Coral Reef by Northcott and you can find it at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW!  Quilts on the Grand is October 5 and 6 at the DeltaPlex.  There will be over 250 quilts on display, plus demonstrations and special exhibits, as well as a vendor Mall.  You won't want to miss this!

DON'T FORGET the Attic Window Quilt Shop will be closed on Wednesday, July 4

HAVE YOU TRIED WOOL EMBROIDERY?

I fell in love with this wool needle case when I was at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Marilyn is one of the teachers of the Embroidery Bee and made this case.  I didn't realize they made things at the Bee.  I guess I thought it was all about learning various stitches.
This is a look inside the case.  Marilyn has applied various embroidery stitches.  So pretty.
Marilyn said that a number of the Bee members are making items from the book "A Cottage Garden."  There are two Embroidery Bees.  One meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 10:30 in the morning.  The evening Embroidery Bee meets every other Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.  Call the shop to see which Tuesday evening they are meeting.

Oh, my, Michigan weather was hot this weekend.  Almost too hot to sew.  All I did was sit on the couch and do some EPP.  How about you?  What did you do?  I hope you stopped in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and picked up some of that awesome fabric that I told you about yesterday.

NEW FABRIC AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

There is a new Cat panel at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  This cat has a cat-a-tude.
The colors are brilliant.  This panel is from Bernatex. This is what it says on the Bernatex site:

"Just imagine your favorite feline, with a elegant coat sprinkled with gold. No wonder she has a  “ cat-i-tude”- she’s simply beautiful! This collection won us over immediately. Ann’s cats are exquisitely painted in rich, rich colors and available in a easy-to-use panel or two graceful allovers. Mix with her flowing textures and geo squares - and you’ll see that the design possibilities are infinite. The details on these prints are extraordinary, just like the cats that inspired them. Be sure to look for more great projects on Ann’s website, grizzlygulchgallery.com.Get your “Cat-i-tude” on today!"
These are the coordinating fabrics at the Attic Window Quilt Shop to give your panel a real Cat-a-tude!
I've shown these fabrics before but have to show them again.  It is Coral Reef from Northcott.
This is a close-up of one of the fabrics.
Another close-up of a differeent bolt.  You can get them now at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Stop in today!

WHAT ARE THE HAPPY SCRAPPERS DOING?

The Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop today and I took scads of pictures of what they are working on.  Above is Diana's latest quilt.  It is stunning.  Diana said,  "It is 'Labyrinth Walk' expanded from 9 to 12 blocks ... I didn't want it square. Each block is about 22" and a lot easier than it looks."
Vickie S. got a new serger machine and she showed us this top that she made.  She said she had it done in no time.
This is a close-up of her top.  What fun she is having with her new machine!
Marilyn showed us this picture that she made.  It is full of sewing articles that used to belong to her mother.  What a lovely memory for her.
This is the book where she got the idea.  She said she is going to make the bunny bag next.
Janalee made fabric from scraps of green fabric.  This is a great way to use your scraps.  Why toss out something that you have paid a lot for.  Make fabric!
Mary worked on making a Fold-It-Hold-It bag for charity.  She also continued working on her 30's quilts.
Diana worked on paper piecing.  She is making an elephant.  Can't wait to see it.
Vickie S. also donated two of the Fold-it-Hold-it bags for charity.   Cathy M. will fill them with personal items and take them to Degage's Open Door Open Heart program.
