A FUN TIME AT HAPPY SCRAPPERS

The Happy Scrappers met this past Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  I want to show you the fun time we had.  Above, Jean Janey (sorry I didn't catch that I wrote her name wrong until it was pointed out to me) is making pillowcases.  She belongs to the Wednesday Night Strippers guild and they sew for a service organization named Heads At Ease.  These pillow cases go to members in our armed services.  Janey says that she sends out thirty at a time!  What a wonderful project!
Aren't these pillowcases beautiful!  What a wonderful project that Janey his working on!
Nancy is new to the group and spent the day sewing little blocks for a quilt she is making.  Hope she comes back and shows us the finished project!
Marti spent the day making these little hexagons.
This is the bag pattern that she's making those hexagons for.  Can't wait to see that!
That Mary....drinking again 😅   She's such a delight, and kept busy all day sewing charity quilts.
Janalee shows us one of the many blocks she made today.  She said this little block board helps her to sew the pieces together correctly.
Chris, shop owner, showed us some antique quilts.  Above is a large quilt made completely of yo-yos.  She said this quilt is about 100 years old.  I looked at the stitches holding the yo-yos together and could not believe how tiny they are.
This is another antique quilt.
And this is another antique quilt.  Chris said that you should not put these antique quilts in the washing machine.  She sells a special soap at the Attic Window Quilt Shop that you soak these quilts in and it works really well!

A fun time was had by all!  I always look forward to going to the shop to sew.  Can you believe it's almost September!  The new calendar will be up soon.  New classes have been added and new items are in at the shop to give you ideas on what to make next and for the upcoming holidays.

Be sure and stop in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and check out all the new items.  The shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

DON'T YOU LOVE MAKING SOMETHING FROM SCRAPS?

Hello Quilters!  This is just a reminder that the Happy Scrappers meet this Saturday, August 28, at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above is what I've been doing with some of  my scraps.
I think I recently showed you the basket of scraps that Cathy gave me.  Well, I can't let them go to waste.  Besides, I love mindless sewing.  Making these triangles was fun.  Now I have to decide, do I want to make this into a table topper, or make more and turn them into a quilt.

Be sure and stop in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and check out all the new items.  The shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

Hope to see you at Happy Scrappers this coming Saturday.

Hugs, Caroll

MAKING FABRIC AND SHOP HOP

Saturday, while at Happy Scrappers at the Attic Window Quilt Shop, I made fabric.  I love using my scraps to make a quilt.  Then it occurred to me, the scraps I prefer come from Cathy.

So, I texted Cathy and asked what she's been doing with all her scraps and reminded her that it is best for her not to trash them because I can put them to good use.  So, today, she and Robbin stopped by with this big basket of scraps.

I love her fabrics.  She choses fabrics that I would never think to get, but I love using them.  Thank you so much Cathy for all these beautiful scraps.  Now I have to get busy and sew.

While at my house, Cathy and Robbin made me aware that on my last post I did not put in the dates for the Shop Hop.  (Duh!  Sometimes I wonder about me)  So here is the information again.

HAPPY SCRAPPERS MEET AND SOMEONE NEW COMES TO VISIT

Guess who came to visit Happy Scrappers at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this past Saturday.
Meet Fennigan.  He weighs all  of 2.5 lbs and will probably only weigh 6 lbs at full growth.
Fennigan is Diana's newest member of the family.  He is so precious!  What a wonderful treat added to the best treat of all...seeing everyone at the Happy Scrappers again!

Above Janalee shows us the cute little block holder that she made for the BOM that she is taking from Lori Holt.  In the holder is the block she just made this month.

Above, Janey shows this pink cats quilt that she is making for charity.  She said the backing is all the pink cats fabric.  How cute!

Vickie D. was busy making this bag.  If I understand it right, this can easily fit on the back of your grocery cart and Vickie will soon be teaching a class so we can all have one of these!!!

Mary W. is busy making another charity quilt with her 30s fabrics.  She is so organized.  She comes with all her fabrics cut to size so she can get lots of sewing done!

It was so great to see Rosa again.  She was busy working on her Wooly Sheep BOM.

Lee Anne is working on her popsicle stick quilt for her grandson and granddaughter who are expecting in October!  Can't wait to see this quilt!

Above is the bag Yvonne was working on.  She will never let me take her picture, but I did get a shot of this cute bag.

This is the inside of her bag.  Check out all those pockets!  I think this is like the bag that a lot of us made a couple years ago and filled with sample sizes of personal care items that we gave to a local shelter.

It was so great to see everyone at Happy Scrappers again.  It feels like forever since I was able to attend, and yet I just missed last month because of this darn cough!

Oh, my goodness, I just realized I didn't get a picture of Martie.  Probably because she was having problems with her sewing machine and had to leave early to take it to be repaired.  But, she was there and it was so nice to see her again too!  Hope to see everyone again on the last Saturday in August!

Be sure and stop in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and check out all the new items.  The shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

Also, don't forget about the Open Shop Hop coming in August.  Stop by the shop for details.
