SEE WHAT YOU MISSED AT THE ATTIC WINDOW

The Happy Scrappers met this past Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  It was a small gathering this month, and I imagine that was due to so many going to the Lake to enjoy this beautiful weekend.  However, we do have some show and tell for you.  Above Janalee shows you this quilt that she made.  It is quilted and ready for binding.
This is a Jelly Roll quilt that Janalee (right) made.   Quilted and ready for binding.
Janie (left) made this beautiful quilt.  Now to bind this big quilt!

Chris showed us this panel that she made for the shop.  She said kits are available.  You really have to stop in at the shop and see all the adorable panels and kits available.

Remember: The Attic Window Quilt Shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE LITTLE MONSTERS?

Hello Quilters!  How are you surviving this heat?  Usually, it is difficult for me to go to my dark sewing room during the summer because I love to be outside.  However, that is not currently the case, and I've been working on another block for my great grandson's Monster quilt.

You can see more of my blocks when the Happy Scrappers meet at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this coming Saturday, June 25.  Hope to see you there!  (It's nice and cool inside.)

Enjoy this beautiful summer!

HAPPY SCRAPPERS MEET AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

The Happy  Scrappers met today at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and guess who joined us!  Rosa!!  It had been a while since she has been to Happy Scrappers, and it was so nice to see her and hear all about what she has been doing.  As you can see, she has been busy making this beautiful quilt for her grandson who attends Hope College!  I love it.

LeeAnne also joined us and worked on this lovely quilt.  She said she is making it for charity and is not using a pattern, but sewing 5" squares together.  I'm eager to see what the finished quilt will look like.

Pat joined us and continues to work on her place mats.

She also made this cute table topper.

Adrienne joined us and had some interesting stories to tell us about her quilts.  Above is the quilt she made while on lock-down in New Zealand. She had no templates and chose to use these batik fabrics because they reminded her of the water and flowers, and foliage in New Zealand.  Notice the light green dots in the squares.  Adrienne said that they represent the dots on a map of New Zealand that showed where the Covid outbreaks were.  Since they were on lock-down, she was unable to get templates for the circles so she improvised and used ketchup bottle caps, and various other caps she had around the house to draw the various size circles.  She is so clever and I love this quilt.  What a wonderful story and reminder to pass on to her children.
She also decided she needed to practice curve piecing and made this beautiful quilt.  The pattern is from the book Strips and Curves by Louisa L. Smith.  She made this quilt for a friend's birthday.

And this is the back of that quilt.  Love that fabric!!!

ARE YOU INTO MONSTERES?

Hello Quilters.  What a beautiful day here in Michigan.  I've been working on a monster quilt for my great grandson and this is the latest block.  Eager to show you all of the blocks together.

This is a reminder that an additional session of the Happy Scrappers has been added at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  They will also meet the second Wednesday of the Month as well as the Last Saturday of the Month.  So, this Wednesday, June 8, the Happy Scrappers will meet at the Attic Window Quilt Shop from 10 to 4.  Come join us in using our scraps to make beautiful quilts or you can come and work on your own project and enjoy the socialization.  We do have lots of fun.  Hope to see you there!
