HAPPY SCRAPPERS AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

The Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop today for the first time in over a year.  I can't begin to tell you how great it was to see and talk to fellow quilters.  Above, Janalee shows us the charity quilt that she worked on today.  I bet someone is going to be thrilled when they see this stunning quilt with all those bright colors!

This is a closeup of her beautiful quilt.

Look at this cute little thread pad that Marti had on her featherweight sewing machine.  How clever!
And what are the odds of this?  We all carried our Mondo bags today!

I don't think much sewing got done as we were so eager to talk and find out what has been happening to each other during this past year.  We were thrilled when LeeAnne stopped by with her latest BOM.  It is adorable.   I really have to get busy and get caught up on these blocks.  I'm still working on January!  Yikes!

It was a wonderful day!  So much fun.  The three of us decided that meeting on Saturday is best, so we will be meeting on the last Saturday of each month.  That means we will meet again on Saturday, April 24.  I hope to see you there!

The new calendar should be out tomorrow, so watch for that as you don't want to miss all the fun things that Chris has in store for us.  The shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

ARE YOU READY TO SEE BEAUTIFUL?

New fabrics are in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  This stunning collection is called Marbled and is from Hoffman Fabrics.  Be sure and stop in and pick up some of these beautiful fabrics.  While there, ask Chris about her new Cat panel.  I can't wait to see it.  I love cats!  And don't forget the new books and the new foundation papers in various sizes.  So much to see!

Also, the Happy Scrappers will meet this coming Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Everyone is welcome to come sew with us.  I hear Chris has some new ideas for us too.

Shop hours are Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.  Hope to see you there!

WHAT’S YOUR REASON TO SMILE?

For a long time during this Pandemic, I was glued to the TV, watching all the violence and hate and anger splayed across the tube.  I was sad and fearful, and I don’t think a day went by when I didn’t cry and wonder what was happening to my world.

Then, my daughter said something very wise:  Stop watching TV.  And I did.  It didn’t happen overnight, but gradually I did think I was feeling better, but still, I had that nagging worry digging in the back of my mind.

Then my wise daughter said something else.  Stop thinking those negative thoughts.  Over time and with her daily reminders, I found I can control my thoughts.  When I found myself thinking fearful and negative thoughts, I shoved those negative ones aside and instead would count my blessings and think about how beautiful the weather is today, or how nice my neighbors are.  And you know what?  I found my world changing.  Maybe there is something to the saying:  You create your own world.

Today, as I go to the grocery, the library, the fast food place, I smile because I know I will meet nice, pleasant people.  In fact, I believe the world is a nicer place than before. People are really making the effort, and I want to too.

That’s why I’m going to the Attic Window Quilt Shop to be with likeminded people, people who are nice and giving and work to make this world a better place.  I’m looking forward to Wednesday, March 31 when the Happy Scrappers meet at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  I’m looking forward to sharing ideas, to making a quilt that I will give to charity, to being with nice caring people who smile and want to help.  I hope you will come too.  Check the calendar for the various groups meeting at the Attic Window Quilt shop. They will help you to see a brighter world. Help you to be a better, more positive person. Give you a reason to smile again!

Caroll

A SMILE FROM THE PAST SENDS A PICTURE

Check out this adorable tissue holder that Rosa Host made and sent a picture for me to share with you. You can get the pattern at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.   I hope you remember Rosa.

I had to go back to 2012 to find a picture of Rosa.  She used to be a regular at Happy Scrappers, but then had other duties that kept her from attending. I know everyone misses her and it was so nice to hear from her after all this time!

Speaking of Happy Scrappers, a meeting of the Happy Scrappers is scheduled for Wednesday, March 31 at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  It has been over a year since we have been together, and I'm really looking forward to sewing and gabbing with fellow quilters.  Hope you can make it!

Don't forget to check the March Calendar on the sidebar for all the new and fun classes happening at the Attic Window Quilt Shop!

Shop hours are Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.  Hope to see you there!

ANOTHER APPLIQUE BLOCK FINISHED!

Hello Quilters.  I had to show you my latest applique block.  It is part of the Bliss pattern.  You can see two of my other blocks here and here. It is a fun project as I prefer to sit in my family room and do hand sewing when we have beautiful sunny weather like we are having in Michigan this week. What have you been doing?  I see Julie who runs the Doll Bee at the Attic Window Quilt Shop, has been busy finishing up some of her dolls. Take a look at her blog post on the sidebar.

Hope every one is well and can stop by the Attic Window Quilt Shop and see all the new fabrics and notions that have arrived.

Stop by soon!

Hugs, Caroll
