COOKBOOK BOM FINISHES

When at the Bees In The Attic Bee Hive recently met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop, we had some show-n-tell.  Several of the women also participated in the Quilt Block Cookbook BOM which is no longer meeting.  Today I'm posting pictures of finished quilts from that BOM.  Above, Barb shows us her finished quilt.
This is a close-up of Barb's quilt.  I love the way she assembled her blocks and added color to the borders.
Diane took her twelve blocks and made two different quilts.  Above she used six of the blocks in this distinctive setting.
Here, she used six more of her 12 blocks in this king size quilt.  The book is great at suggesting various block settings.  I love how all the women have made their quilts unique.

BEE HIVE MEETS AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

 To View In Browser
Diane was the Queen this month when the Bees In The Attic Bee Hive met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.
This is a close-up of some of her blocks.  What a pretty quilt this is going to make with all those colorful blocks.  I'm eager to see it finished.  She chose the block "Picnic" from the book 12 Pack Quilts.
Cheryl will be the queen next month and above she shows us the book page for the block she wants us to make.
Cheryl made a few sample blocks to show us.
She is asking us to make the block Primrose from the Fat Quarter Style book.
All our background fabrics are included in the kits she distributed.  She asks us to make the flower with bright, colorful fabrics of our choice and that the flower centers should be either black or brown.  This will make another beautiful quilt!

We had some show-n-tell.  Above, Barb shows us her latest finish.  She said she wanted to get it finished ASAP because no one wants to look at snowflakes in the summer.  😃  Barb, also had another finish which you will see tomorrow.
Marilyn showed us her latest finish from a panel that she got at the shop.  I bet my DIL will want this!

MONSTERS AND MEETINGS

A couple more monster blocks.
I hope this one isn't too scary for a child.  Now that I have nine blocks finished, I need to put them all together into a quilt.  Later this week maybe.

What I really want to do is remind Bee members that Bees In The Attic Bee Hive meets tomorrow, Wednesday, March 28 at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Hope to see everyone there.

A LITTLE OF THIS AND THAT

Cathy sent me this picture.  She said that when she was at the Attic Window Quilt Shop..."Marilyn and maybe Chris were showing their blocks. They’re using civil war scraps to make blocks from that 100 block sampler block book you like. The pieces are just soooooo small."  LOL  I love the blocks.  I think she is talking about the book The Splendid Sampler by Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson.  I love that book!  You can get it at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.
When my great grandson came over I thought he might like to help me make more Monster blocks.  I am using the pattern from Shiny Happy World. I also took her Craftsy class and recommend it highly.  Anyway, this is the block my great grandson came up with.  I quilted and bound it so he could hang it on his wall.
This is the block I made.  I have nine of them completed and will start sewing the blocks together this week.

A SAMPLER FINISH AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

This past year a new Sampler was held at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above Pauline shows us her finished top, ready to be sandwiched and quilted.  It is stunning!
This is a close-up of one of the applique squares!
Cathy M. sent me all these pictures.  Above she shows us these blocks that Pauline made.  Pauline is continuing to make blocks from the Quilt Block Cookbook.  Love her colors.

A special thank you to Cathy for sending these pictures so we can all see them.  Pauline is doing a wonderful job.

SEEN AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

When at the Attic Window Quilt Shop last week, Mary P. showed us her latest quilt.  It is lovely.  She said she made it all from half square triangles, then decided to add the various borders herself.  I love this quilt!
I also saw this darling wool piece at the shop.  Kathy B. made it and the pattern is in a book at the shop.

A CLOTHESLINE TREAT

Did you get a chance to stop in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this past Saturday?  I did and took some pictures of the clothesline show.  This display was full of adorable potholders.
Above is a closeup.
Check out the house.  Love that black cat!
And what about this little lamb.
There was even a potholder for a bowl.  So cute!
You can find all the patterns in this book, Pot Holders For All Seasons by Annie's Quilting.  You can still get the book and see the display at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  However, if you didn't get to visit on Saturday, you missed the awesome discounts and the free gift.  😭 Maybe next time.

A NEW BOM AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Vickie S. stopped in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this past Saturday when the Happy Scrappers were sewing.  She showed us this beautiful quilt that she made as a sample for the upcoming BOM that is to start in May
Graphic Gems will come in two colorways:  Lapis & Emerald, and Garnet & Sapphire.  You choose which one you want.
Vickie also showed us this stunning quilt that she just finished.  It is awesome.  She said she made this one for herself.  This quilt is from a kit.

DON'T forget to call the shop and sign up for the Graphic Gems BOM!
Vickie D. worked on this beautiful quilt on Saturday.  She said she is about 1/3 done.  It's going to be a big one.
This is a close-up of her beautiful fabric.  Vickie said it is from a kit that she purchased from AQS three years ago.  The pattern is Belmont by Betsy Chutchian Designs.
I worked on this Scrappy Churn Dash block.  It is a great way to use those small scraps that you would probably toss out.  Crazy Mom Quilts has a nice tutorial for you.

ANOTHER LITTLE WALL HANGING

Another little wall hanging from the pattern Happy Holidays.  You can get the pattern at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Haven't decided which one I will make next.  The pattern includes nine different wall hangings.  They are all adorable.  However, the next one will have to wait because I'm off to make more monsters.  And after that I have to get things ready to sew during Happy Scrappers on Saturday.  We are calling this a Stitch-In because everyone is welcome to come sew with us.  Work on whatever you want; it doesn't have to be scrappy.

DO YOU LOVE MONSTERS?

The other day I stopped in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop when the Charity group was busy making quilts for charity.  After talking to Mary who runs the group, it hit me.  I love Monsters and have wanted to make a monster quilt for a long time but all my children, grandchildren, great grand children are too old for a monster quilt.  However....I bet there are lots of children who would like one, so why not make one and give it to the charity group to distribute. So I hurried home and got busy.  Above is block...well I haven't given it a name so we'll call this block #1.
This is Block #2.  I have had so much fun today making these blocks!
I saw the monsters on Shiny Happy World and am using Wendi's pattern for my monsters.  If you go to her website today you will find a free bunny pattern.  I love that these monster patterns allow you to be creative.  The pieces for all the monsters are available and you are not told where to put what.  You use your imagination and mix and match and embellish as you desire.  I love being creative!  This is a great way to use up those scraps too!   I'll show you more as they develop.

ARE FLOWERS IN YOUR FUTURE?

The beautiful, warm, sunny weekend on the west side of Michigan had me in the mood for some spring flowers, so I made this potholder.  Are you thinking about spring?

One thing you want to be sure to think about and do is mark your calendar for March 17.  Not only is that St. Patrick's Day, but it is also National Quilting Day and a reason to celebrate at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. I know Chris has something special planned for you.  I just don't have all the details yet, so keep an eye out for upcoming information.

NEW FABRIC AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

There are new fabrics in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  You will love all the new 30s fabrics.
All these 30s fabrics are from Henry Glass & Co.  Oh, look, I think that blue one will be perfect for my Easter project!
There are also new bolts of 108" wide backing fabrics.  The ones on the left are from Quilting Treasures and on the right is Stonehenge.
And who wouldn't want some of these soft cuddly pastel flannels by Henry Glass & Co.  Think of that baby gift you have to make.

Be sure and stop in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this weekend and pick up some of these new fabrics for that special project.  PS:  I noticed there are some new books in too.
