IS HE A MUG RUG?

Like my little kitty cat?  You can use him as a mug rug, coaster, or mouse pad.  Well, those are just my thoughts.
Is is actually a My Pals pattern, which you can get at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  You can also see my sample above there too.
These My Pals are made using the Mug Rug Shapes. This is double sided fusible interfacing and is ideal for mug rugs.  The pattern makes adding the binding so simple you won't believe it.  It went on like a charm.
This is the same interfacing that we used to make these adorable coasters during Craft Day.   This is a must-have when making those quick and simple gifts.  Check it out at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

HAVE YOU EVER FELT LIKE THIS?

The Happy Scrappers met Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Really, we were Happy!  I couldn't resist snapping this picture when Cathy was having a difficult moment, struggling with her Farm Girl Vintage BOM.  I sure can relate!
Lee Anne showed us this darling quilt that she is making for charity.
Nancy shows another on of the many blocks in her quilt.  Love those colors.
Marilyn brought in a couple quilts to show us.  We had been bugging her about doing curve quilting, maybe teaching a class.  Above is one sample.  I love the smaller circles in the larger ones.
This is the other curve sample that she brought to show us.  Looks interesting to me.  Watch for a class next year.
Marilyn was also busy making more of these fold up bags.
The next time I looked, there were four.  She was busy making gifts that day.  She said she would be having another class on making these wonderful bags sometime at the beginning of the year.

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE

I stopped by the Attic Window Quilt Shop last week just in time to see what was happening in Vickie S.'s One Block Wonder Class.  Above, Karen M. has her pieces placed on the audition board so she can view block placement and try out some borders.  I love these OBW's but am so afraid to try one.  It looks like way too much piecing for me.  I hope I get to see Karen's quilt when it is completed.  I love those fabrics.
Karen also made these Bargello placemats when she took a class from Vickie S.  How beautiful!
Gail C. also took Vickie's OBW class.  Above is a picture of her quilt all put together.  It is stunning!
This is a close up of Gail's quilt.  Gail said,  “I’m going to call this quilt “Resistance is Futile”  - a Reference to Star Trek and the Borg.  Some will understand - others will not have a clue!”

I’m a trekkie fan but had to look that one up on the internet.  Gail said she put the cubes in this quilt because it is going to a young man.

MADE YOUR SCRAPS COUNT

I forgot to show you the Charity quilt that I finally finished.  Well, I finished the top.  Now I have to decide how I'm going to quilt it.  Any suggestions?
Marjorie J. saw an earlier post where I made my first blocks for the Charity quilt and it inspired her to do the same thing with her scraps.  I asked her to send me a picture of her finished quilt (above).  It is lovely!  You may remember, I first got the idea for this quilt from Alamosa Quilter.  When I saw her Scrappy Little Wishes quilt I decided I had to try that.  You can find a link to the pattern on her blog.
Thanks Marjorie for sending us a picture of your beautiful quilt.  I'm inspired again as now I want to cut my scraps into squares and make the centers like you did.

HAPPY SCRAPPERS ARE BUSY

The Happy Scrappers met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Not many attended but those who did got right down to business.  Above, Marti shows her table topper that she was finishing.  She participated in Craft Day but didn't get this one completed.  Isn't he cute!

Marti also showed us this beautiful quilt top that she had just finished.  Wow!

Mary G. was busy working on a new quilt.  Love those fabrics.  She said she got them all at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.
Diana was busy finishing her stocking that she didn't get to during Craft Day because she was kept busy helping everyone else with their projects.
Rosa attended Craft Day also.  She liked the bag that she made that day so much that she decided to make another one as a gift for a very special someone.
Marilyn showed us this apron that she just made from a new pattern in at the shop.  She said it is a snap to make!

THESE WOMEN HAVE HEART!

The Charity Quilters group met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Monday.  It was a productive day and Pat (above) was one productive lady.  Above is the first quilt that she finished that day.
This is the second Quilt that Pat put together for this wonderful Charity group.
And this is what Pat was working on in the afternoon just before we left for home.  Wow!  What a lady!
Phyllis made this beautiful quilt and it goes to a child with cancer at Devos Children's Hospital.  Stitched With Love is written on the center panel.
Above is Phyllis showing us the other side of that quilt.  You can tell this is made with love.
Mary was busy too making this quilt.  What interesting fabrics she is using.
Chris showed us this adorable angel.  She said she painted it herself and was looking for a place to put it in the store.  I say a lovely angel by a beautiful angel.  She sure is a woman with heart!

CRAFT DAY A HUGE SUCCESS!

This is what we made at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this past week during Craft Day.  Did you miss it?  Because so many people want to attend, Chris has expanded the event to two days so everyone who wants to can participate.  I couldn't post pictures of the first session because what we are going to do on Craft Day is a mystery.  I have attended in the past and was so excited to attend this year that I could hardly sleep.  I knew it would be a fun day.
Above, Diana shows us our first project of the day.
The kits for these Itty Bitty Bags included everything we would need to complete our project.  I'm not one to work on small things, but Diana's help and instructions made this an easy project.
After that, Chris showed us our next project...this adorable table topper.
She demonstrated how we were to make it, then distributed our kits and we got down to work.
Karen shows us her two completed projects.  Great job Karen!

We also made these darling coasters or you could also use them as ornaments.  So cute!
I think Chris was a little anxious to show us our next project.  Or maybe it was me who was anxious and shaking the camera with excitement.  I love this gift bag.  You will note in the picture college at the top of this blog that I added a bow on the back of my bag.
These are close ups of the bag.  Did you notice that it has different fabric on each side?
Do we look a little tired?  This was our last project of the day.
Chris showed us how to put this bag together.  You will notice in the college at the top of this blog that there is a green cutting mat in the bag.  This mat came with the kit.  I just stuck the pink rotary cutter (mine) in the pocket so you could see how handy that pocket is!

I'm sorry I didn't get more pictures of participants and their projects.  I was so busy making my own project that I didn't have time to take pictures.

If you liked what we did this year at Craft Day you'll want to keep an eye out for the spring Craft Day.  I'm looking forward to it as I know Chris will have more fun projects lined up for us.  I'll post the dates on the blog as soon as I get the information.  You won't want to miss this one!!
