The Charity group at the Attic Window Quilt Shop has been busy.  I stopped in at the shop when they were meeting and they graciously let me take pictures.  These women are to be honored and thanked for all the work they do.  Above, Laura (left) and Marianne hold up the quilts they made.
More quilts from Laura and Marianne.

GIFTS MADE ON CRAFT DAY AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Saturday was the last Craft Day this year at the Attic Window Quilt Shop, so I can show you all the wonderful items we made.  I couldn't tell you previously because those items were a secret.  Each year Chris provides us with kits to make 4 or 5 different projects.  They are always different and fun projects.  There were 12 people in the class on Saturday. It was so great to socialize with people I had never met before, and to talk to old friends I haven't seen in a long time!
First we made these adorable Layered Christmas Tree Ornaments.  With each kit came instructions, so we can make more at home.
Then we made this cute A Tisket A Tasket 2 Fat Quarter Basket.  This will be so nice to put a gift in.  No need for wrapping paper.
Next we all went to the cutting table to pick up our kits for the next project.  Don't you just love that fabric!
This project is just called Zipper Bag, but Chris named it the vacuum cleaner bag because as you make it and before it is turned inside out, it looks like a vacuum cleaner bag.
When we turned it so we could see the cute fabric on the outside, it becomes this darling zipper bag.  I can think of a million uses for it:  travel make up bag, sewing supplies bag, art supplies, men's shaving supplies, just to name a few.

Next we made a Mini Wallet/Coin Case.

Above, you can see the three different pockets for storing coins, credit cards, folded money.  One person said that she and her husband walk a lot, but never have any ID on them, and these Mini Wallets are just what she needs to put their ID in and slip it in a pocket when they walk.  What a great idea.  I'm making more and putting a gift card in each one so my great grand kids can get what they want.
The kits came in different fabrics, and Marilyn used her special tool to add the colorful snaps for us.

It was a wonderful day.  We each brought a dessert or snack, and that was awesome.  Then Chris ordered pizza for lunch and of course pop, water, coffee were provided.  It was a wonderful day!  You won't want to miss this next year!!

The Attic Window Quilt Shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.  Check the calendar for special closings during the holidays.

Look at this pile of quilts that Mary made and brought to the Happy Scrappers at the Attic Window Quilt Shop yesterday.  She said they are for charity.  They are beautiful.
Above, Mary peeks over this quilt that she made from all scraps.  What talent!  Don't you just love the 30s fabrics.  They all go together.

LeeAnne with her beautiful smile was at the Happy Scrappers too.  She is working on a paper piecing project.

A special THANK YOU to Marilyn for helping me make this adorable little cloth book for my great grandson.  I still have some work to do on it, but Marilyn made the instructions, which were printed on the bottom of the panel, clear to me. What a great teacher she is!!!!

LOOKING FOR GIFT IDEAS?

Hello Quilters!  I hope everyone had a fun Halloween.  Today I want to show you some new items I saw recently at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above is Secret Garden by Windham Fabrics.

And these pretty fabrics are from Robert Kaufman.

Lynn Wood, a customer, made these adorable bags.
That pattern is in this book, Sweet Jane's, and you can get it at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.
Lynn also made these adorable bags.
They are Stand and Store bags and the pattern is at the Shop.  Any of these bags would make wonderful Christmas gifts!  You better get started now!
Another great Christmas gift idea!  LeeAnne made this cute bag as a sample for the shop.   Ask when you are there about the pattern,

DON'T FORGET:  The Holy Hop begins this week.  The dates are Nov. 2 - 5, 2022.  Stop in at the Attic Window to get your passport and for a paper showing shops and times.

ALSO:  The Happy Scrappers will NOT meet on the last Saturday during November and December, but Happy Scrappers will meet on the second Wednesday of each month.  Special projects are planned or those days.  All are welcome to attend.

NOTE:  There are plenty of other exciting events going on at the Attic Window Quilt Shop during the upcoming months.  Craft Day is in November.  Call the shop to sign up. The number is limited each day so call ASAP to get the day you want.  Craft day is always a fun event!

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM HAPPY SCRAPPERS

Happy Halloween!

Hello Quilters.  When at the Attic Window Quilt Shop Saturday, enjoying time with the Happy Scrappers, this beautiful quilt caught my eye.
This is a closer look at the beautiful panel that is available at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  When on the Shop Hop next week, be sure and take a look and get that panel!  What a wonderful Christmas gift it will make.
Remember earlier this month when Marilyn had a class on how to make a block.  We bought a packet of Cupcake Mix Recipe squares and a packet of charm squares and made a block.  This is the finished quilt.  I'm sorry I forgot to get the maker's name.  But it is so cute and has made me want to make more blocks.
LeeAnne was there working on her quilt.  Mary was there, too, but she left early and I didn't get a picture of what she's working on.
Marti was working on these bowls that can be used to save your fingers from hot bowls of soups.  People seem to be thinking of Christmas gifts right now.  Wouldn't these make nice gifts!
Nancy S. is making a pencil bag, another nice Christmas gift.

I didn't want to interrupt Jane and Janalee from their conversation so just snapped this picture.  Have you noticed how many are bringing their featherweight machines to sew on?
Sonie C. was new to the group.  She was working on a black and white quilt.  Hope joins us every last Saturday of the month!

Which reminds me:  WE WILL NOT BE MEETING DURING NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER.  Way too much going on, which you will see in my upcoming posts.

And look who finally joined us!  Adrienne has been very busy this summer and could not attend.  Things seem to be settling down for her and she is busy sewing again.  Above, she shows us these cute little bags that she is making.  She says they make great hostess gifts.  You can fill them with candy, and people can use them when they travel to store their cords and plugs for their phones and computers.  Or you could use it as a jewelry bag when you travel.  Or you can place a gift card inside.  What a great idea!!!

I wanted to show you these bags in process.  Above you can see the pattern and also the nice contrasting handles that she is using.

Check out this adorable quilt.  Barb H., a customer who is part of the Thursday group, brought this quilt in to be quilted and was nice enough to let us see it.  It is adorable!  I want to make one! It is so darn cute!!

DON'T FORGET:  The Holy Hop begins this week.  The dates are Nov. 2 - 5, 2022.  Stop in at the Attic Window for a paper showing shops and times.

ALSO:  The Happy Scrappers will NOT meet during November and December, but there are plenty of other exciting events going on at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Craft day is in November.  Call the shop to sign up.  I'll have more info on the next post.

Until then, Happy Quilting!
