ANNOUNCEMENT FROM HAPPY SCRAPPERS

Happy Halloween!

Hello Quilters.  When at the Attic Window Quilt Shop Saturday, enjoying time with the Happy Scrappers, this beautiful quilt caught my eye.
This is a closer look at the beautiful panel that is available at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  When on the Shop Hop next week, be sure and take a look and get that panel!  What a wonderful Christmas gift it will make.
Remember earlier this month when Marilyn had a class on how to make a block.  We bought a packet of Cupcake Mix Recipe squares and a packet of charm squares and made a block.  This is the finished quilt.  I'm sorry I forgot to get the maker's name.  But it is so cute and has made me want to make more blocks.
LeeAnne was there working on her quilt.  Mary was there, too, but she left early and I didn't get a picture of what she's working on.
Marti was working on these bowls that can be used to save your fingers from hot bowls of soups.  People seem to be thinking of Christmas gifts right now.  Wouldn't these make nice gifts!
Nancy S. is making a pencil bag, another nice Christmas gift.

I didn't want to interrupt Jane and Janalee from their conversation so just snapped this picture.  Have you noticed how many are bringing their featherweight machines to sew on?
Sonie C. was new to the group.  She was working on a black and white quilt.  Hope joins us every last Saturday of the month!

Which reminds me:  WE WILL NOT BE MEETING DURING NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER.  Way too much going on, which you will see in my upcoming posts.

And look who finally joined us!  Adrienne has been very busy this summer and could not attend.  Things seem to be settling down for her and she is busy sewing again.  Above, she shows us these cute little bags that she is making.  She says they make great hostess gifts.  You can fill them with candy, and people can use them when they travel to store their cords and plugs for their phones and computers.  Or you could use it as a jewelry bag when you travel.  Or you can place a gift card inside.  What a great idea!!!

I wanted to show you these bags in process.  Above you can see the pattern and also the nice contrasting handles that she is using.

Check out this adorable quilt.  Barb H., a customer who is part of the Thursday group, brought this quilt in to be quilted and was nice enough to let us see it.  It is adorable!  I want to make one! It is so darn cute!!

DON'T FORGET:  The Holy Hop begins this week.  The dates are Nov. 2 - 5, 2022.  Stop in at the Attic Window for a paper showing shops and times.

ALSO:  The Happy Scrappers will NOT meet during November and December, but there are plenty of other exciting events going on at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Craft day is in November.  Call the shop to sign up.  I'll have more info on the next post.

Until then, Happy Quilting!

TWO THINGS FOR YOU

Hello Quilters.  I hope you are enjoying this beautiful autumn day that we are having here in Michigan.  I have two things I want to share with you today.

1. Jacquelynne Steves of The Art Of Home had a fascinating article the other day that I wanted to direct you to.  As I'm not getting any younger this article interested me.  In essence, it said that it has been scientifically proven that creative people delay cognitive decline.  And what is more creative than Quilting?  You can go here  to read the full article.

LOOK WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH A LITTLE FABRIC

It was a great day at the Scrappers Fat 1/4 Class at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above Jill shows us the block she made.
This was a fun class and let me tell you about our teacher, Marilyn.  She not only is the best teacher ever, but she helps out too.  Above, she cuts those little ears off our blocks before we sew them together.

This is the block I made today.  I learned so much.  I'm sorry I must not have taken a picture of the sample that Marilyn made.  She used the white and the Christmas fabrics.  You'll have to stop in at the Attic Window to see it.  I think we talked Marilyn to teaching the class again for those who couldn't make it today.

I almost forgot.  We used these papers to make the block.  You can get them at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Using these papers made it very easy to make this block.  I've been thinking what a cute table topper or table runner this block will make and what a nice Christmas gift.  The pattern shows you how to make an entire quilt, which Jill is going to do.

Are you ready for Halloween?  While at the shop today I saw some cute gift ideas.  I love this table topper.
Above are a couple gift ideas.  I have someone in mind for that wine bag!

And what house doesn't need some dish towels?  What great gifts they make!

PS:  Be sure and watch for the next post when I tell you about the Holly Hop!  Mark your calendar Now for Nov. 2-5.  You won't want to miss this!

Don't forget The Attic Window Quilt Shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

NOW IS THE TIME TO BE A TATTLE TALE!

Hello Quilters, no the above picture is NOT what we will be making during our next class.  But it is a great time to be a tattle tale and tell all your friends about the new class at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

I hope this picture got your attention because I wanted to remind you that Wednesday, Oct. 12th, is Scrappers Fat Quarter Class.  This is a new class that Marilyn will be teaching.  I don't know a lot about it, except that it is sure to be a lot of fun.  For more information feel free to call the shop to get a list of supplies needed.  This is a great time to learn something new and enjoy the day with your quilting friends.  Hope to see you there.  The class is from 10 to 4 on Wednesday.

Don't forget The Attic Window Quilt Shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

ARE YOU DONATING TO CHARITY?

I stopped at the Attic Window Quilt Shop today to see what the Charity group was doing.  These women are fantastic.  It's true when they say Quilters have the biggest Heart!  These women spend time and money making beautiful quilts for Charity.  Above, left to right, are: Mary W., Mary Ellen D., Marianne B., LeeAnne K., Laura B., Mary T.   A special thank you to all of them for their loving work.  Below are pictures of some of the quilts they have ready for giving.

This is the pile I saw this morning waiting to be given away.  All these quilts are made from donated fabrics and they are beautiful.  I won't show them all, but I know you'll want to see some of these.  They are so adorable!

This is the back of the quit above it.  Too pretty not to show.

These quilts are stunning and I hope you all will give a special shout out to these wonderful ladies.  Take a second look and think about what you can do with all those leftover fabrics.  Or you can donate them to this charity group. And it just occurred to me, these women are loaded with talent.  It takes talent to take donated fabric and turn it into a beautiful quilt!!!

Great job Ladies!!!!!

Don't forget The Attic Window Quilt Shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.
