CAN THIS BE A GIFT?

Hello Quilters.  Have you been able to get any sewing done this week?  Chris, owner of the Attic Window Quilt Shop gave me a copy of the design so I could paper piece my log cabin block, since I missed attending Happy Scrappers last week.  So, this week I've been able to put my scraps to use and make this pot holder.  I hope to get more accomplished this weekend but that is doubtful.  This is a busy time of year.

HAVE YOU TRIED PAPER PIECING

I've been under the weather this past week and didn't make it to the Happy Scrappers meeting at the Attic Window Quilt Shop last week.  I had hoped someone would send me some pictures but was told that everyone was having such a good time that they forgot about taking pictures.  However, Carol P. sent me a couple pictures of her recent paper piecing projects.  She said that she finished the tree wall hanger for the back door.
She also finished these paper pieced blocks.  Not sure what she plans to do with them, but I'm thinking they would make fun hot pads.  Thanks, Carol, for sharing with us.

MUG RUGS MAKE NICE GIFTS

It's that time of year!  So I made this cute Mug Rug from a book that I got at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.
My machine writing may not be the greatest, but it was fun to do.  The book that I used was from Annie's Quilting, Learn To Make Quilted Mug Rugs.  It is filled with 30 different mug rugs that you can make in no time.  What fun.

DON'T FORGET THE SALE!

We have snow!  That means it's time to sew.  I got busy and finished this table runner that I previously talked about here.
This is a closeup of one of the blocks.  It was a fun project, and felt good to get something finished.  I think I got some dopamine when I checked this one off!
Making that table runner was my first time making a log cabin block.  It was fun, but I think it will be more fun using foundation paper to make the block.  Come to Happy Scrappers on Wednesday, Nov. 13, and Chris will provide us with the paper to make a log cabin paper pieced block.  All you need to do is bring your 1 1/2" scraps of various lengths.  It should be a fun project and if you haven't done paper piecing before, maybe you can learn a thing or two.
I haven't decided whether I'm going to go with the bright fabrics on the left, or use all pinks.  Whatever, it should be a fun time.  Everyone is welcome!

DON'T FORGET!

HOW CREATIVE IS YOUR BIAS?

Just a reminder.  You can make this bias table topper with me on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Call the shop to register and get a supply list.
This is a closeup of one of the blocks.  You don't have to do any FMQ if you don't want.  I'm not an expert in that.  I really like to use the walking foot to do the quilting.  You can do whatever you want with those open spaces.  Maybe add more bias strips.  Maybe add some embroidery. Or try your hand had FMQ.  I hope you will use your creativity to make this table topper.  I was just thinking that instead of using the four squares to make a table topper, you cold use the individual squares as hot pads.  They would make nice hostess gifts during the holiday season.
