NEW AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Hello Quilters!  I was at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this past Saturday and I have a lot to show you.  First of all is this adorable pillowcase that LeeAnne made. I forgot to ask, but she might be teaching a class.  Wouldn't it be great to start now on those gifts for the grandchildren!
This is a new book in at the shop.
And this is a sample of one of the table topper patterns in the book.  I love this!
Jelly Roll Jam is another book in at the shop that I'm sure you will want.  Look below at all the samples that you can find in the store.

These all came from the Jelly Roll book and are just too cute!

This quilt pattern came from the Three Yard Quilt Book.  A kit will soon be available for this one.  Don't you just love kits!!!

And check out these adorable fabrics.

They come in a kit!

And here is what is inside!  I think the pattern is there too.

And these are more fabrics in the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  They are stunning.  Since my camera was apparently not working I didn't get the name of this fabric line but as I recall they are from Andover Fabrics.  So beautiful.

I hope I have everything correct.  All this pollen or whatever in the air is really bothering me.  Any questions, stop in at the shop and ask Chris.

Don't forget The Attic Window Quilt Shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

QUILT SHOW PICTURES AND HAPPY SCRAPPERS

Did you get to the AQS quilt show down at DeVos this past weekend?  Cathy and I went down and I wanted to show you a few pictures that I took.  It really was a great show despite the trouble parking.

BUT FIRST:  This is a reminder that Happy Scrappers will meet this coming Saturday, August 27th at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  All quilters are welcome to join us from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  You can enjoy Show-N-Tell, great conversation, and shopping.  What a fun day!  Hope to see you there.

Now for the pictures I took at the show.  Above is an applique.  Did you know I love applique?  I also have a new Handi Quilter quilting machine that I'm trying to master and understand what to quilt where, therefore you will see my focus in these pictures....quilting.  Hope you enjoy.

OUR FRIEND DOES IT AGAIN!

  • Hello quilters! Sorry it has been so long since I posted and I still do not have the August calendar out! Gads! It has been a crazy month with a lot going on. Seeing old friends, going on vacation, and having my kids and great grand kids spend time with me. So much fun.
  • But I did want to tell you about this lovely quilt above! Marjorie, our friend from Utah, made it. This is her Steampunk Elephant Quilt.

Here is what she says:

"It is about 63 inches square. Was fun to do, I made it up as I went along.

Summer has been brutal here in southern Utah. High has been 112 deg. and we have had about a month of 100 deg. plus, days. Phew it has been hot. We finally got some rain. About 1/4 inch. Last rain was April 20th.

I have been hunkered down in the basement. I got 7 quilts to the quilter. I just completed my third quilt of valor and it is ready for the quilter.

Now I have lots of large strips cut from the backing after quilting. Sometimes I use them for the binding, but would like other ideas to use this precious ($14 a yard) fabric.

What do you and your quilting friends do with this type of leftovers? Any ideas would be helpful.

Life is good.

I am also making a lot of samples for the class I am teaching at Guild. We are doing chenille mug rugs or hot pads."

What a wonderful, newsy letter. Thanks for sharing, Marjorie!
