IS IT RAINING PURPLE?

Do you know who this is?  Cathy M. made this fantastic quilt and entered it into a contest.  Here is what she had to say about it:

"Cherrywood Fabrics offers a themed contest each year.  The grand winner gets a very large bundle of their fabric and the other “winners” accepted have their 20” quilt travel the AQS show.  Quilters might remember prior exhibits featuring The Lion King, Wicked and last year’s Van Gogh quilts.  Since Prince hailed from Minnesota, home of Cherrywood, this year they honored the late artist.  The rules required a 20”quilt using their Prince fabrics, reading purple and only their fabrics could be used. Enhancements are allowed but no glitter or other adornments that easily detach.  Since I know little to nothing about Prince I recruited my friend Lisa H. for help.  I altered her drawing from an early version of his image.  The face color was a remnant from the Savannah quilt I completed earlier this year, purchased from Cherrywood.  To tone down the Black Afro, I used purple hair spray."

That is so fantastic.  I hope she wins!  I know all her friends at the Attic Window Quilt Shop wish her success!
