HAPPY SCRAPPERS HARD AT WORK

The Happy Scrappers met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and I think it’s safe to say that a good time was had by all!  Above Rosa shows us the pillowcase she is making.  Rosa makes pillowcases and donates them to Safe Haven Ministries, a place that offers comprehensive domestic abuse services to women and their children as well as community education and prevention programs.  Great job Rosa!
I caught Vickie S. working on another Lone Star Swirl.
I snapped another picture of Vickie's quilt later in the day.  Isn't this going to be a stunning quilt!  You can make this beautiful quilt too!  Just call the shop and sign up for Vickie's next class.  She is a fantastic teacher and your friends will be in awe when you tell them, "I made this!"
Catherine was working on her applique blocks.  This is a Piece O' Cake design.  Can't wait to see the rest of her blocks.  Catherine does excellent work and I love her way with color.
In case you are wondering, this is what is written on Catherine's shirt. Don't we wish!
Peggy was working on her Stripes and Solids Quilt As You Go quilt.  Judi A. was working on this same pattern, but then got involved in making pillowcases and I forgot to take a picture of her doing either.  Sorry Judi!  Both women are almost finished with their QAYG and I can't wait to see them.  They are using such bright and cheerful colors. Peggy said she thinks for her next QAYG is going to be smaller blocks using some of her stripe fabrics with pastel fabrics for a baby quilt.  It is so nice to finish a quilt and not have to think about having it quilted.
Adrienne, our sunny friend from New Zealand was working on these blocks.  I don't know the name of the pattern.  All I know is that Adrienne bought the most scrumptious cookies to class!  I'll print the recipe soon.  You won't want to miss this!  They are to die for!!!

DON’T FORGET:
  • Happy Scrappers meets this coming Saturday at the quilt shop.
  • Mark your calendar for the West Michigan Quilters’ Build Quilts on the Grand.  The date is October 3 – 5 at the DeltaPlex Arena.
ANOTHER NOTE:
Until next time,

Stay Calm! Stay Kind! Stay Positive!

Looks like so much fun! My scrap group is probably going to be the thing I miss most when my store closes.
