NEW IDEAS AND LOTS OF SPARKLE

The Happy Scrappers met this past Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  If you are a little blue, or just need some sparkle in your life, this is just the group to do that.  I come away feeling lighter, that my cares have been washed away.  I always say, Quilters are the best!  Of course, we had some show-n-tell.  Above Judy F. shows us how she took a 10 minute table runner that she made, ....
Then she folded it, sewed the sides (above the sides are not sewn yet), and had a wonderful project bag with pockets! What a clever idea!
Judy also showed us this darling hexie needle book that she made.  The pattern is by The Back Door.
Judy  also showed us The Elephant Walk.  This stunning sewing kit is by designer Fern Ridge.  Judy said she purchased it as a kit.
Above you can see all the wonderful items that came with the kit, even the little wax elephant.  This is really something to see.
Marti showed us her latest quilt.  It is a perfect size for a wall hanging or a table topper.
This is a close-up so you can see the rich colors in the fabric and the neon green accents.  Beautiful.
Adrienne was busy placing these blocks on her design wall and auditioning fabrics.
Marilyn showed us her finished Lone Star Swirl quilt.  Love those colors.
Marilyn also showed us her latest paper piecing project.  I cannot believe how small these pieces are.
Speaking of small, JanaLee showed us these small squares that she made from scraps.  For a relatively new quilter, she does great work!
Jill was making pillowcases for her daughter in college and her friends.  Those gals will love these!
Rosa was busy quilting her fabric for the Ruler Bag Class.  We are excited about that class.
Diana worked on her bird blocks. Sorry I didn’t get a better picture of the blocks, but I got her nice smile!
Lee Anne showed us her finished quilt.  I previously posted about it here before it was quilted.  Lee Anne and Chris (shop owner) made this quilt and are donating it to Lori’s Voice, a charity that helps young people with disabilities.  This quilt is up for silent auction.  You can learn more about it here

DON’T FORGET:
  • To mark your calendar for the West Michigan Quilters’ Guild Quilts on the Grand.  The date is October 3 – 5 at the DeltaPlex Arena.
ANOTHER NOTE: Jo’s Country Junction has a Halloween table runner for you.

Until next time,

Stay Calm! Stay Kind! Stay Positive!
