Marti also worked on her Quilt As You Go block. She has several blocks completed and I can't wait to see them all together.
Peggy shows us her completed March block. This was a fun block to make.
This is my block for the March BOM.
Since I didn't read the directions carefully, I had enough HST left over to make another block. Heck with that. I decided to play a little and came up with this block. I think it will work.
We were happy to have Leslie Bastian join us today. She worked on making the January Sampler block. She just joined that group and needed to catch up. Hope she comes back to sew with us.
Rosa joined us and worked on her Bargello quilt. See all the strips on the right? The entire board looked like that until Rosa started placing the strips as indicated on the tabs at the top.
This is a close up of the instruction tabs at the top of each strip. You follow the number and the arrow when placing the strips side by side.
Rosa showed me how she would place a strip next to the previous one and then move it in the way the arrow indicates. Don't pay attention to the numbers in the above picture because Rosa was just using it to show me what she should do. Obviously, #13 should be placed next to #12. Vickie S. teaches this class and I admire her teaching skills. She provided the boards and all the cutting and placement information (as seen on the tabs in previous picture) so her students could easily make this quilt.
Above, Judi admires Rosa's work. Judi is thinking about taking Vickie's class too. Today Judi worked on various projects.
This is a paper piecing blade that Diana worked on today. I can't wait to show you this star burst quilt that she is making. It was a fun and productive day. Hope you will join us next month.
ON ANOTHER NOTE:
- Quilting Lines has a tutorial for a leaf vase block.
