HOW ABOUT A LITTLE ART DECO

When the Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Wednesday, Sue L. showed us this stunning quilt that she just got back from the quilter.  Sue brought it with her so she could do the hand sewing on the binding.  She said that the pattern for this quilt can be found in the book Design Art Deco Quilts by Don Linn.  

This is a close up of the quilting that Mary Gee did for her.  Mary is a long arm quilter.

Mary Gee also had a quilt to show us.  I love this Christmas quilt that she just finished.

Mary made and quilted this quilt.  Above you can see the quilting design she used.

 This is the backing she chose.  The picture doesn't do it justice but you can see her quilting.

I took this closeup of Mary's quilt mostly for me.  I have a ton of Christmas fabrics and now I know just what I want to do with them.

During the day Mary worked on making this block.  I think if is for the Farm Girls group that she participates in at the shop.

Cathy  worked on something new that wasn't close enough to a  finish for me to take a picture.  The same with Diana, who is working on a new paper piecing design.  I made two more Electric Avenue blocks for that charity quilt that I started last week.  I might have gotten more done, but got distracted by the various conversations going throughout the room and had to do some un-stitching and re-stitching.  But I'm not complaining because it was so nice to be with friends.  We had cookies and fruit and dip and lots of conversation.  We didn't want to think about the -1 deg. temperature outside.  Yikes!
