GIRL SCOUT TROUPE EARNS BADGE

Yvonne B. recently sent pictures of the fun time her grand daughter's Girl Scout troupe had at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  The girls learned to applique this adorable owl.  Rosa and LeeAnne helped Yvonne teach the girls.  She said, "The girls learned a lot."

Above the girls show off their work.  Yvonne said, "We had show-n-tell first, showing them the different ways to applique.  For this project they used felt.  The girls learned how to sew on buttons, glue their pieces to the background, and how to attach their owl by using large stitches.  They all did a great job!"
Rosa helped the girls with their applique.
 LeeAnne helped too.
More work on their project.
After completing their project they had a fun time playing bingo.
And they had pizza.  By completing their project, each girl will earn a Sewing Badge to sew on her vest.

It looks like a fun time was had by all.  I wish I could have been there.  Thanks Yvonne for sending the photos.  What a great thing to do for these girls.

OLD FRIENDS RETURN!

She's back!  It was like old home week when the Happy Scrappers recently met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Several people had returned after a long absence.  We have been missing Rosa for several months and were so glad to see her smiling face again.  Above, Rosa shows us a baby blanket that she is working on.  She made one like it before and decided to make another.  Isn't it adorable.
We were also happy to see Adrienne and her happy smile again after missing her this past winter while she visited warm New Zealand.  More on her project later.
Lee Anne worked on a new project using this beautiful fabric.  The fabric and pattern are from Timeless Treasurers Tonga Treats Strippy Pinwheels kit.
Cathy shows us the table runner that she recently finished.
This is a closeup of the beautiful fabric.
Cathy was recently Queen Bee at the Bees In The Attic Bee Hive.  She told us the block she wanted us to make, gave us the blue print fabrics, and we got to work.  Last month we give her the blocks and Cathy got busy and put them together (adding a few more blocks of her own) and quilted the quilt.  It is beautiful!  I'm so impressed with Cathy and how she actually gets her quilts finished!
Back to Adrienne.  Above she shows us this tri-fold zipper bag that she made during our session that day.  I think it was a bit of a struggle.
Above Adrienne hugs teacher Diana who helped her through all her difficulty while making the bag.

It was a fun day and so good to see everyone again.  Hope you will come join us this Wednesday, April 12 when we meet again at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.
