The
Happy Scrappers met at the
Attic Window Quilt Shop on Wednesday. Above, Mary shows one of the three quilts that she made for charity. These quilts were also to show us what can be done with those fabrics that we were to pre-cut prior to our meeting .
This is a quilt made with the 2 1/2" squares, 4 1/2" squares, and 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangles. What some of us liked about this quilt is that there is no matching of seams.
This quilt is made with the squares and strips above and Mary also added the 6 1/2" x 2 1/2" rectangles.
Above is one block that Mary assembled.
Then she made this block.
And here you can see how she put them together. You can twist and turn the blocks any way you want.
Since most of us had not cut the 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangle, we used what we had to make our blocks. Above, Cathy shows us how her blocks look together.

I think Lee Anne was making blocks too but I didn't get a picture. I think I got distracted by all the giggling going on at that table. I had to ask what was so funny. I guess Yvonne wondered why her machine was clunking all of a sudden. Above you can see why. She sewed her insurance card to her fabric. What a hoot.
Yvonne was making this bag for our charity group.
Yvonne did show us her latest quilt top. I asked her to bring us the size of her blocks because this would be a wonderful way to use your scraps.
Mary came in this morning with 20 more of these bags for DeGage. A special thank you to Mary for sharing all her knowledge with us today. She showed us how to make and assemble the various blocks and showed us how to make these bags. She is a special lady.

LOL...Had Yvonne been wondering where her insurance card had gone to? That is so funny! Those are pretty simple blocks but they make into a fun looking quilt design. I like those bags for the charity. They look pretty handy. Yvonne’s pink quilt is awesome looking. Another simple design that makes into a great looking quilt.
Gotta second all Annie wrote! When I saw the photo of the card on fabric, I thought, "That´s one way to keep from losing it!" LOL Thanks for typing of the sizes of the simple blocks for a quick baby quilt idea I just might manage before Christmas. Oh, and I´m guessing on Yvonne´s pink/white quilt top block sizes, small ones might be finished 6x6 inches? But then I thought they might be sized for precuts, charms and layer cakes… until I tried to figure out what a third of 5 works out best for finished width of the sashing.
