THE KNOTTY GIRLS ARE BEING KNOTTY AGAIN

The Knotty Girls Stitching Bee met last night at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Maggie was working on this wonderful block.  It is from the book Country Inn by Barb Adams and Alma Allen of Blackbird Designs.  Isn't it beautiful!  I love this block and like the size too.  This block is for the Country Rose pattern and finishes at 24 inches.  You have to check out this book.  Not only does it have wonderful patterns but it has great recipes too!  Well worth the price!

Unfortunately no one else had anything for show and tell as their (our) minds were centered on food.  We had a pitch-in and, oh, my, can those gals cook.  They meet again in two weeks and have promised to bring recipes for me to share with you.

Have I told you about With Needle and Thead?  It has a cute BOM and all the past months are available too.

Saw this on Stephanie’s blog, Peas In A Pod.  Go there and click on the link which will take you to a tutorial for a perpetual magnetic calendar.  Check it out!

Be sure and check back as I have a new tutorial for you!

A GIFT AND A NEW BLOG'S GIVE AWAY

I made this mug rug for a friend who is retiring.  I thought the bright colors would make his day brighter as I think a life-changing event such as this can be a little daunting.  I was at his office recently and noticed labels on everything: in box, out box, phone list, applications, etc.  “That’s part of our new Lean Program,” he said.  “They tell people where things should go.”

So I got out my label maker and made some labels to make him feel more comfortable.  I gave him a To-Do List to think about during his morning coffee!  Hope he gets a kick out of it!

What I really wanted to tell you about is the give-away that Mary Lou Weidman is having.  Recently Mary Lou was locked out of her blog and even Google couldn’t help her, so she had to start a new blog.  If you were a follower, you may have wondered why you haven’t seen any posts lately.  Please go to her new blog (link on my sidebar) and become a follower on her new blog.  Or if you were not a follower but would like to become one, click here.  Either way, take a look at Mary Lou’s new blog and the darling give-away that she is having.  You could be the winner!

Michele at With Heart and Hands has a great tutorial for liberated flying geese!

I'VE CHANGED SINCE YOU SAW ME LAST

This is me, sitting at the Attic Window Quilt Shop with my thread catcher and my foot resting on the latest edition of the Country Register as I contemplate all the new fabrics in the shop.
Should I get this Arboretum by Moda?
Or this Imported Style by Hoffman Fabrics?
Or how about this Rocky and Bullwinkle by Windham Fabrics.  There still must be a kid in me because I love this fabric!
Or maybe some of this beautiful Grace by Moda?

There are many new items at the shop, so if you get a chance stop in and check things out.

Don’t forget to check the sidebar for upcoming classes.  The No Ordinary Pillowcase sounds interesting.  I hope I can take the hand applique class with Jill.  I want to learn her method.  There is an interesting Make It and Take It on Thursday.  Call the shop to register.

SomedayCrafts has a link to a cute pattern for a boo-hoo cold pack that is sure to make the little one’s tears go away.
