HAPPY SHACKS MAKE ME HAPPY

Thought I’d show you what I’ve been working on.  Happy Shacks is from Black Cat Creations and is designed by Judy Reynolds.
I took some pictures along the way.  This is a close-up of one of the houses.
This is another house.  I love “free” piecing method for making these houses.
I’m making progress.  It has a red border with black corner stones.  I’ll show you the completed picture once it is quilted.

Are you still looking for Gift ideas?  Stephanie at Peas In A Pod has the cutest idea and link to instructions for Hot Chocolate on a Stick.  I can’t wait to try this!

ATTENTION:  Mark your calendar now!  Don’t make any other plans because you won’t want to miss the shop’s biggest sale of the year.  On January 1, 2012, the Attic Window Quilt Shop will be having a huge sale from 12-4 p.m.  Chris says that some things will be as much as 75% off!  Don’t forget!

Quilting Tutorials has a cute mug rug pattern for you.  I bet this would put a smile on your face when you have your morning coffee.  Birds make me smile.

This is so cute, Caroll! Is this the project you said you got "side tracked" on? I love it! The fence really adds to it, as well!

Please tell me what you mean by "free" piecing????

KT, maybe the term "free" piecing was incorrect. The designer calls it her "no rules" method. She says you can change angles of house walls and roof lines or add more trees, etc.as you want. She includes suggested cutting, but you can make different sizes depending on the scraps you have available. If your block turns out too large, cut it down. If it is too small, add some more background fabric. You don't have to worry about matching seams, and are "free" to do what you want...be creative.
