Then recently I noticed on her blog that she had gone into the pattern business, and that her Radiant Orchid Quilt had won second place in a quilt challenge. I love what Cynthia does and was happy to hear that she has decided to go into the pattern design business.
And this is what I made! I loved this pattern and am anxious to get more of Cynthia’s patterns. She is very thorough, as attested to the 21 pages of directions. She didn’t leave me guessing, not once. I think the most difficult part for me was choosing the fabrics for the melon. My experience with fusing is minimal, and I was concerned about this method of appliqué. However, after following Cynthia’s easy to follow step-by-step instructions, I was one happy lady. I love how this quilt looks and I think it was the best way to make this quilt.
Check out Cynthia’s quilts. The original is here. And the smaller one that she made from her new pattern can be seen here. You will note the beautiful quilting on each one. Above, I quilted my table topper heavily, but I thought that would be best to keep the cloth from blowing away in the wind as I plan to use it on my deck, and at the cottage by the lake.
Cynthia, I can’t thank you enough for this wonderful opportunity. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful designs.
ON ANOTHER NOTE: Val of Val’s Quilting Studio is making a quilt with kids. She has a link to a tutorial and I thought this would be so much fun to make a quilt with my five-year-old great grandson this summer. Check it out and have some fun too.
PS: I'm linking up to Freemotion By The River. Check it out.
Until next time,
