      BRIAN'S QUILT

Isn't this quilt adorable!  My friend Brian sent me pictures of his latest quilt and I wanted to share them with you.  If you turn your head to the side you can see the the letters spell Woof.

There are lots of "woofs" on Brian's quilt.  This is a picture of his entire quilt.  I love the "woof" and the paw prints on the quilt.  And check out that fire hydrant!  How cute!

Above are closeups of more blocks in Brian's quilt.  I love how he put the quilt together.  He is one creative guy!  Thanks Brian for sharing your beautiful quilt with us!

A QUILT FOR A BABY BROTHER

Have you seen these new books in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop?  Gabby Quilts for Baby Brother is an adorable book that tells the story of Gabby making a quilt for her baby brother who is coming home today.  The companion book (red on the right) has the quilt patterns in it.

Marilyn showed me this darling quilt that she made from the book.  She used the new beautiful fabrics in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

You will love Gabby's Theme Prints from Bambini Fabrics.  Don't miss them!  They are on the shelf beneath the counter!

BEES IN THE ATTIC AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Bees In The Attic Bee Hive met Wednesday morning at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Pat was Queen Bee this month.  Above, you can see the blocks we gave her.

Last month, Pat showed us five blocks that she had made so we could have an idea of what she wanted.  You can read about it here (scroll down).  Pat also gave each of us a generous amount of fabrics that she asked us to use when making her block.

Pat's block is called Bitty Bits and is from the book Irish Chain Quilts by Melissa Corry. I'm looking forward to see this quilt finished.  Pat said she is making it for her daughter who wanted these colors.  It is going to be stunning.

Cheryl is going to be Queen Bee next month.  Unfortunately, she could not be with us on Wednesday.  However, she did send us directions for making this Chain block.  She also gave each of us fabrics to be included when making the above block.  She said in her note that we will need additional fabric to complete the block and asks that we choose autumn colors.  Looking forward to seeing Queen Cheryl next month!

            IT'S BEACH BAG TIME

Can you tell where my granddaughter went to school?  I told her and my daughter that they should pick out the fabrics for the beach bags I was going to make them.  I'm glad I told her to choose.  I never would have thought of this fabric.   I think it was a good choice because she can use it when they go tailgating or to a game.

My daughter also went to State and this is the fabric she chose.  At least they will be able to tell them apart.

Above are the two bags together.  You can make a bag in less than two hours.  Just buy THE FAST & EASY MESH BAG KIT at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  This kit has everything in it: mesh, lining fabric, webbing, and pattern.  Everything is cut to size.  All you need to do is supply 5/8 yard of fabric.  I love these kits.  I think my girls are going to love the bags too.

Pauline W. made this stunning quilt!

Pauline took four different panels and made them into a queen size quilt.  Quilters are so clever!

            HOW SMALL ARE YOUR PIECES?

I forgot to show you what Diana is working on last week when I attended her English Paper Piecing Bee at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above is her adorable block.  I want to say this is a Lucy Boston block, but am not sure.  I'm new to this EPP thing.
We all tease Diana because she likes to work small.  These are more of her blocks with a small pair of scissors next to them so you can see how very small these are.
While at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Saturday some new EPP paper pieces arrived.  Can you tell how small these pieces are?
Maybe this will help you understand what I mean when I say small.  These pieces are not even as big as the dime in the picture.  I'm really anxious to see what Diana makes out of these.  She'll do it and I'm sure it will be awesome!  She's a great teacher too.

            A CUSTOMER SHARES HER QUILT

A customer stopped in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop when I was attending Happy Scrappers on Saturday.  I had to take pictures of this!  Above, Rose Ann Gigandet shows us this adorable quilt that she made for her new twin niece and nephew.
This is a closeup of Rose Ann's quilt.  She did a beautiful job of appliqueing these adorable little creatures.
She is also making this tree quilt to go with the other quilt.  Above is the top row.
This is the bottom row.  I wish I could tell you the name of the book that the pattern is in, but everyone said it was on the tip of their tongue but could not remember. Chris said she used to carry the books.

A special thank you to Rose Anne for sharing her beautiful quilts with us.

            SPECIAL VISIT AT HAPPY SCRAPPERS

The Happy Scrappers met Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. Above, Lee Anne shows us what she worked on that day.  It is now ready to be sandwiched and quilted.  These brilliant fabrics are from Watercolors Bali Pops by Hoffman.
We also had someone quite new visiting the AW Quilt Shop that day.  This is Chris's (shop owner) grand daughter.  She's four months old and adorable!
After baby Mara left and we stopped ohooing and ahhing, we got back to the business of quilting.  Above, Marti shows up this stunning quilt.  She finished adding the binding and it is ready to be given to her friend.
Marti also showed us this beautiful bag that she made.  As I recall she said the pattern is from an old Fons and Porter magazine.  I love those fabrics she used.
Sheryl worked on making this eye catching quilt.  It is going to be beautiful!
Nancy participated in the Ruby Short McKim Flower Baskets BOM a while ago.  Now she is busy adding the baskets to her embroidery.
This is a close up of one of Nancy's blocks.  Can't wait to see the finished quilt!
I caught Jill at the ironing board.  She  is making a table runner.  Love these Christmas fabrics.
Jill also showed us this new panel that is in at the shop.  It is Jolly Old St. Nicholas by Northcott Fabrics.  Get it now so it will be quilted and finished by Christmas.
This is the pattern that is available to instruct you on adding the borders.  Better pick it up now at the shop because I'm sure these panels won't last long.

HAPPY SCRAPPERS AND SHOW N TELL

The Happy Scrappers met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  I imagine everyone was either on vacation or just out enjoying this beautiful weather, because only Lee Anne, Diana, and I sewed that day. It was nice because each of us had an entire table to ourselves and we could spread out.  Above is what Lee Anne worked on that day.  I love the colors of this quilt! The fabric is from Watercolors Bali Pops by Hoffman.

Above is an adorable baby blanket that Jill made.  I understand it is quick and simple.  The fabric is so soft and there will soon be kits available.  Think Baby Shower!
Jill's daughter Megan made the quilt above.  She also made the following quilts.  Megan really is turning into quite a quilter!

I'm sorry I don't have the names of the patterns but I think they are in a book at the shop.  Please call the shop for information.

            HAVE YOU TRIED EPP?

The English Paper Piecing group met Tuesday afternoon at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above, teacher Diana shows Mary Ellen how to place her template.
Mary Ellen was doing a lot of fussy cutting on the teeny tiny pieces.  All that work and patience is going to be worth it.  It is beautiful all ready!
Sue worked on her Lucy Boston design.  She's also started another one in lighter shades of red.
I worked on this.  I made the center last month.  This month Diana showed me the QAYG technique for these hexagons.  I think this will make a good mug rug.  I'm now thinking about adding some hand quilting to make it more interesting (and give me practice).

The EPP group meets the second Tuesday afternoon each month at the shop.  Diana is an excellent teacher and I know you won't be disappointed when you join us.

            NOTICE:
