Above teacher Cathy, instructs Val on how to cut the ends of the scarf.
Then they filled Val's tube with the cooling beads.
This is a close up of them pouring those slippery beads into the tube.
Val and I model our new cooling scarves. Mine is going to my DIL.
After that, Marilyn shows how to use a new tool.
When I saw this block that Marilyn made, I knew I had to get that tool and make some of these.
This is the tool from Creative Grids. When you are making lots of these blocks, this tool helps you to strip piece. You gotta see it to know what I mean.
After all that learning, we got down to the business of sewing. Lee Anne is starting another charity quilt using these beautiful charm squares.
Mary is working on a quilt for charity too. She is using her 30's fabrics.
Above Cathy is putting much thought into her table runner.
Here it is all finished.
I love this fabric with the ants and watermelon. Good job Cathy!
A special thanks to Marilyn and Cathy for giving of your time to teach us today!

Where does one get cooling beads? I have bought the finished product at craft shows. They really help when you are working out in the Florida summer heat. I look forward to hearing from you. Replies:robinsbusiness@hotmail.com
Oh how lovely to see you in a photograph again, Caroll! I see I didn´t make the filled part of my scarf long enough, will try again. :o) Did you serge the edges of the angular ends of the scarves? A few years ago I made myself a casserole carrier with the same ant fabric Cathy used, always makes people smile at BBQs. :o) Happy Sewing, ladies and hugs from Germany! Bobbi
Great pic of you, Caroll, you skinny thing you! Love that block, and the ant table runner, that is too cute!
