HAVE YOU TRIED FOLDED FABRIC?

When I attended Happy Scrappers at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this past Saturday, I saw a number of women were working on folded fabric blocks.  Above are Rosa's blocks.
Then I saw Yvonne's blocks.  Aren't quilters the best!  I know those who come into the Attic Window Quilt Shop are willing and eager to share their knowledge.  So I called Cathy right away and told her about the folded fabric blocks because I know that is what she's been wanting to do.
So Cathy joined us too.  Above she and Diana try to figure out how to make a folded fabric block.
While Cathy, Diana, Rosa and Yvonne spent time on their folded fabric blocks, Nancy worked on making this lovely block.  It is a BOM this year at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.
And Vickie D. made this bag that will hold all her various electronic cords.  I had her turn down the top so you could see that she is using snap tape across the opening.  I didn't know they had such a thing.  She told us that some snap tape has the snaps positioned about an inch and a half apart.  She looked around at the various stores until she found this one where the snaps are only an inch apart.  What a great idea!  I'm going to try that on my next bag.  She said she is surging the sides and bottom and then binding them with the same pink that is on the top.  Love that fabric!
Customer Anette Baron (left) stopped by to see what we were doing.  Above, Rosa is trying to help Cathy make that folded fabric block.
We thought Anette might be able to help as she does origami and showed us one that she does.
Finally, Cathy shows us her finished block.  Pretty!  While things were fresh in her mind she made four more after she got home that evening.

While all this was going on I was showing Marti how to do Freezer Paper Applique.  Only when I got home did I realize I never did take pictures of her project.  She is doing a challenge block and it is going to be adorable.  I hope to show the finished project soon.  And hope she wins the challenge!

Peggy stopped by during the day to pick up her Bee blocks since she didn't get them because our session was cancelled due to the weather.  ATTENTION:  Peggy asks that those Bee members who have not turned in their finished blocks for her please bring them to the shop and leave them at the front desk.  I think one person has dropped out so if that person does not intend to make the block please return Peggy's fabric to the shop.

Our dear friend Lee Anne could not be with us this week due to a physical challenge.  We wish her well and hope we will see her lovely smile back on the blog soon.

DON'T FORGET to sign up for the Heart of Winter Tour bus trip on Saturday, Feb. 10th.  You can read about it here.  I'm really looking forward to visiting the four shops on the tour.

Yes! I´ve got the book a customer is looking at in a foto and I haven´t done any for a few years but the 12-petalled sunflower was the trickiest in the book, if I remember right. A pair of pointy, angled tweezers (saw them at my dentist and convinced him I needed them more than he did :o)) helps hold tiny bits in the corners/edges or center.... happy folding and stitching always, and hugs!
