YOU CAN HELP THIS CHARITY GROUP

I stopped at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this morning and visited with the Charity Group. This group of women work tirelessly making beautiful quilts for charity.  Above, Lee Anne (not her quilt) shows just one of the quilts that has been donated to the Charity Group.
Another quilt donated to the Charity Group.
Laura, an active member of the group, made this lovely quilt.
Mary shows us this quilt that she made.  She points out that you can use your scraps to make a beautiful quilt.  And they don't have to be big.  This one will go to a child.
Mary also made this quilt.  What child wouldn't love these bright colors.
Above, Judy shows us this quilt that she made.  It is larger and will probably make a male recipient very happy.
Above, some of the members discuss fabric choices.  These women help each other, share fabrics that they provide or that others have donated to the group.
Speaking of donations, as a quilter you are always making quilts.  How many quilts can you use or do you need?  No matter what that answer may be, you continue to make quilts.  Right?
Suggestion:  Why not go through your pile of quilts and pull out those you no longer use or perhaps your style has changed and you no longer need these quilts.  You can donate them to the Charity Group who gives them to various organizations: Hospitals, hospice, the Veterans Administration, homeless shelters, etc.  This group is always in need of quilts to give to those in need.
Mary tells me that they would appreciate any quilts you would like to donate.  These quilts need not be new.  The group accepts used quilts as long as they are clean and not damaged.
Feel free to drop you quilts off at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and tell them they are for the Charity Group.  This group also accepts donations of fabric and batting.
Mary also invites anyone to join the group which meets on the first Monday each month.  All are welcome to join in sewing charity quilts.  Just show up with your machine, sewing supplies, and some fabric.  The women will help you do the rest.

So, get busy and clean that sewing room and think of the Charity Group at the Attic Window Quilt Shop as you clean and organize.  Not only will it be appreciated but you will feel good too! It's a fact, volunteering and donating to others has a positive impact on a person.  You will feel inspired, useful, connected and hopeful.  So, do it now!
