HAPPY SCRAPPERS MEET AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Hello quilters!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.  The Happy Scrappers met this past Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above is one of the totes piled high with scraps that are shared by all.
As you can see, Adrienne pulled out a bunch of scraps from that pile sorted them by color, and started making blocks.
These are the blocks she did on Saturday.
This is a close up of one of the blocks. You can see that she has no pattern, but just randomly sews pieces together to make a lovely block.
And this is another close up of one of Adrienne's blocks.  This is my favorite.
Above, Janalee shows us blocks she has made with scrap strips.
She also uses her scraps to make these blocks.  I'm eager to see how all this goes together.
I have to tell you what Mary told us Saturday.  Though she lives in the city, there is a woods nearby.  She said one morning she looked up and saw a deer right near the house.  She wondered what it was doing so near the house and looked out the window to find the dear had birthed two fawns.  She watched as the deer nudged the little one to  its feet.  She said it was so wabblely but the fawn got up and followed its mother back to the woods.  What an experience!!!!
LeeAnne is working on a jelly roll quilt.  Love these fabrics.

Pat joined us today and she is working on making mats.  Hope she comes back and shows us the finished project.

Janie is making another charity quilt using these long strips of
fabrics.

Speaking of charity quilts, Janie and Janalee have some to show us.  These first two quilts are from Pieces of the Heart quilting group and go to Kids Without Beds.
If you would like to make a quilt and donate it to Kids Without Beds, they need to be this size: 48-50 Width, and 70-72 in Length.
These are additional charity quilts that have been quilted and now need binding.
Awaiting binding.

And ready to gift to charity.

What a wonderful job this group is doing.

I hope you will join Happy Scrappers as we have recently added a weekday meeting because during summer the weekends get very busy.  We meet on the second Wednesday of the month and the last Saturday of the month.  Please feel free to join us.

Hope you have a great week!

Hugs, Caroll

HOW ABOUT A SNOWBALL FIGHT IN JUNE?

I've told you about the quick weather changes here in Michigan, but did you know you can have a snowball fight in June...or July...or August?  Yes you can when you get these cute snowballs at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  I bet your kids, grand kids, or great grandchildren would have fun with these this summer.  Just imagine tossing them around in 80 deg. heat, which, by the way, the weather report says the temperature will be this Sunday!  Yay!

ANNOUNCEMENT:  I wanted to let you know that the Happy Scrappers will meet this Saturday (yes I know it is Memorial Day weekend) at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  I know a lot of people will be out of town, but the shop will be open and we thought, for those of us who have no travel plans, why not meet and socialize and sew!  What fun!

THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP will be closed on Monday, Memorial Day. Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

Never forget!

SPRING CLEANING SALE AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Before I tell you about this lovely quilt above, let me tell you about the Big Sale happening this week at the Attic Window Quilt Shop

SALE! The Spring Cleaning Sale: at the Attic Window Quilt Shop is this Friday and Saturday, May 13 & 14.  Chris said, "We have a big selection of Store Samples on sale."

Also, there is 15% off all regular priced fabrics, patterns, books, notions.  There is an Additional 15% off of Sale items (*This does not include Sale fabrics which are now just $5 to 6.99 per yard).

Now to the quilt above!  Maryanne and I were the only two people at the first mid-week, mid-month meeting of the Happy Scrappers.  And look what Maryanne is doing with her Scraps!  This is going to be a stunning quilt!

This is a close up of her quilt!

I got so enthused at watching her quilt develop, that I had to try it and made this block above.  Where I pick up a piece of fabric and regardless of size or shape, begin to sew, Maryanne showed me how to be a little more precise and more structured.  She also has a great color sense.  Thank you Maryanne for showing me your technique.

Don't forget the Happy Scrappers meets next on the last Saturday of the month!  Hope to see you there.

Remember: The Attic Window Quilt Shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4. And don't forget the Big Sale!

ANOTHER DAY FOR THE HAPPY SCRAPPERS

Hello Quilters!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.  I know I did.  Marjorie, our friend from Utah, sent me her latest finish some time ago, but I couldn't get it on the blog.  Have I told you how much I hate it when they change things, and I really don't like all the changes in Windows 11. Marjorie calls this her Zombie Revenge.  Looks like it took a lot of work to make this beautiful quilt! Great Job Marjorie!

I just wanted to remind everyone that we have added a week day Happy Scrappers group and we will meet at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this Wednesday, May 11, from 10 to 4.  Everyone is welcome.  I have some new patterns to show you.  I thought you might like to use your scraps to make them. Of course, if you don't want to do that, you are free to work on what you want, and the Attic Window Quilt Shop always has lots of fabric, notions, and patterns for you to sew what ever you want.  Hope to see you there!

HAPPY SCRAPPERS MEET & AN ANNOUNCEMENT

The Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this past Saturday.  It was a wonderful day, and I have so much to show you.  These women really get a lot accomplished.  Above, is a quilt top that Janey made. Now she it getting it ready to be quilted  It's quite large and she used great colors.
Janalee shows us this quilt that she made for charity.  It is so cute.
Check out this backing fabric that she used.
This is a close up of that backing.  Adorable.
Janalee also showed us this quilt that she made for charity.  So bright and cheery.
Mary was back today and working with her 30s fabrics!
Above Jill and Janalee enjoy sewing and visiting.
Vickie worked on this beautiful quilt.  I think she started it a while ago and now it is finished and ready to be quilted.
And I have to show you this.  Chris had a surprise for us today.  She showed us how to make this big block.  I think it is 18 inches square.  What a fun surprise!  I think she's already thinking about what new to show us next month.

LeeAnne and Adrienne were also there but I guess I was so busy chatting that I forgot to get pictures of what they were working on.   Maybe I can get pictures when we next meet, which reminds me....

ANNOUNCEMENT:  It has been suggested that we also hold a Happy Scrappers meeting during the week because sometimes it is difficult to attend on a weekend.  So, we have added a Happy Scrappers meeting to the calendar.   We thought this a good idea because summer is coming as well as the holidays, and we don't want anyone to miss out on the fun.  So the dates for Happy Scrappers are the second Wednesday every month and the last Saturday every monthThese are the dates for May:  Wednesday, May 11, and Saturday, May 28.  Mark your calendar now and join the fun!!

Also, The May calendar should be ready tomorrow.  Be sure and take a look as some new classes have been added, and there is a BIG SALE coming up that you won't want to miss!!

Remember: The Attic Window Quilt Shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

Hope you have a great week!   Caroll
