PUTTING IMAGINATION TO WORK

The first gathering of the Come Sew With Me group met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Wednesday.  Above, Lee Anne shows us her latest charity quilt.  She said she decided to use these donated fabrics in a rail fence pattern.
Misti sent me this picture of her latest work in progress (she's finishing the binding).  She sent me a picture of the finished table topper but it was smaller and I liked this view best.  Thanks Misti for sharing with us.
Marilyn showed us her finished quilt from last year's Sampler.  Notice the design she used to set the blocks.
This is what Sue C. did with last year's Sampler.  Same blocks, different settings.
Above, Sue peeks over the top of her quilt!

SAMPLER AND HAPPY SCRAPERS

Sampler was held this past Saturday prior to the Happy Scrapper's meeting at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above are their blocks for this month.  This year the theme is Seasons.
There were a lot of Happy Scrappers Saturday, but above is the only picture of anyone's work that I managed to get.  I think I was too busy talking.  This is the quilt that Robin showed us.  She had some UFO blocks and decided to put them together like this.  I love her design.  Now she is struggling with how to bind it.  I have made her promise to show us the quilt when it is all finished.  Can't wait to see it.
A reader recently asked where she could get the packaged freezer paper for applique.  I lost her email, but as you can see above, you can purchase it at the shop.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:
  • Clover and Violet have a link for a pattern and tutorial for an insulated snack bag.

NEW SAMPLER SERIES AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

These are sample blocks of this year’s Sampler series at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  This year’s Sampler is a little different in that it is called a Seasonal Sampler and each participant chooses which seasonal colors she would like for her kits.  Above  top, left to right, Winter, Summer.  Bottom, left to right, Christmas, Spring.
This is the autumn block.
You will get a sheet of instructions each month for two different size blocks.  Above are the various settings.

It is not too late to register for this Sampler series.  There are three different times that you can attend each month:  First Saturday of the month, Second Monday, or Second Tuesday.  See the Newsletter for times.  NOTICE: There is one slight change for February.  Due to the Heart of Winter Tour which takes place on the first Saturday of February, the Sampler will be held on Second Saturday in
February only.

Speaking of the Heart of Winter Tour; have you signed up yet?  If you are wondering what it is all about you can see pictures of previous trips here and here.  Your price for the bus ride to the four different shops includes lunch and dinner.  Call the shop to register.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:
I love the looks of hand quilting with Pearl Cotton thread.  Rebecca Mae Designs has a tutorial for how best to do it.

Until next time,
♥
