JEANNE BIRD DOES IT AGAIN!

I wanted to point out a couple items that you won't want to miss when you visit the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Also, for those of you who are not able to visit the shop, I thought you'd like a look-see too.  The above wall hanging by Jeanne Bird  is really something you will appreciate.

Jeanne took the pattern that the Attic Window Quilt Shop distributed for the 2016 Row By Row quilt and made this fantastic wall hanging.  There are a ton of these little buttons on it.  Birds are everywhere.

 Even in the trees with the apples.

 Of course every farm has cats and chickens and a vegetable basket with veggies.

Love the sign on the barn.  I understand that this was Jeanne's family farm. Such talent!

 Jeanne also made this beautiful quilt.  She participated in last year's Sampler series at the shop.  She created this design for finishing the quilt.  The Sampler blocks border the quilt and she decided on what to put in the center. 

 Above is a close up of one of the center squares.  This is an awesome quilt!  I repeat:  What talent!

DO YOU NEED A MUSTACHE?

A good friend and fellow quilter Jeanne Bird sent me this picture of this adorable baby quilt.  This is what Jeanne said in her email to me:

“I thought you might like to see a baby quilt I was asked to make. She (the person who asked Jeanne to make the quilt) wanted a modern look with grays and white. I decided to make a little dude bow tie quilt using neck ties from my collection. The ties are folded 3-d. The border is mustaches, which gives it a whimsical look. Last weekend the quilt was given to the gal and she loved it.  The baby shower is next month and I hope the mom to be likes it.”

What a darling quilt.  Don’t you just love that mustache border!  I wonder where Jeanne found that perfect fabric for this bow tie quilt!  Thanks Jeanne for sending the picture.  Great job!  I’m sure the new mom will love it!

A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING, QUILT AND PILLOWCASES!

Ooops!  It’s Friday already.  What happened to Thursday?  This summer is going way too fast! Today I want to show you pictures that Jeanne B. sent me of her son’s wedding.  They had a lovely garden wedding at Jeanne’s home at Brady Lake.  Above are Jeanne and her husband and son and new daughter-in-law.  What a beautiful family.

Above, Michael and Megan unfold the quilt that Jeanne made for them.  I previously posted about that quilt here.  What a darling couple! 

I had to show you these pillowcases that Jeanne said she included with the quilt.  I imagine she made them too.  Aren’t they priceless! (You can click on the picture to get a closer view.)

JEANNE CREATES A WALK IN THE PARK

Jeanne B. recently wrote me about a quilt show in Big Rapids.  Unfortunately I could not attend The Quilters Glory Quilt Show, a biannual event at the Big Rapids Middle School and the Old Jail.  I would love to have been there as vintage quilts were on display. Jeannie told me that this year the quilt show's challenge category was “In the Park."   Quilts had to be no larger than 40" square and include a blue bird.  Jeannie said, “This was the first time I entered a challenge. Seamus (her dog) inspired me to create Pooch Park, a place where Seamus loves to play. I drew, pondered fabric choices, cut, appliqued and embellished Pooch Park in a three-month time period.”  Above is the darling quilt that Jeanne entered into the challenge.

 Above, Jeanne’s cat Squeekie wants Seamus to leave her usual spot on the bench.  Jeannie wrote, “Squeekie loves him but that is her spot.  Oh what fun it was to create a whimsical take on the park.” 
Thank you Jeannie for sharing this darling quilt with us.  You did a fantastic job on the design and fabrics.  I bet you did have fun making it as it makes me smile to look at it.
