WHAT'S NEW AT THE SHOP

When I was at the Attic Window Quilt Shop last week I saw some new fabrics that I wanted to tell you about.  Isn’t this block above adorable!  I know.  Who wants to think of anything having to do with snow after our long hard winter.  But, really, it is just too cute, and you will be glad to have something cool to work on this summer when the weather gets hot.

That block is part of this panel.

This is a close up of one of the Warm Wishes fabrics by Red Rooster Designs.  Better buy it before it melts away!

I also fell in love with this Kitty Kat line by Blank Quilting.

IT'S BUNNY TIME!

 

Check out these adorable little bunnies!  They would make wonderful gifts for an Easter Basket.  They are Clam Shell bunnies and you can tuck something special inside for that precious little one.  

 This is the pattern that you can use to make your bunny.  Then you just embellish it on your own.  

Sue C. made this lovely pillow as a sample for the shop.  As you can see, the pattern is from the book Sew Gifts.   Not only would it make a great gift, it would be a great way to use your scraps too!

What sewer wouldn't love these new fabrics in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop!  The line is called Sewing Kit by Blank Quilting.  I have to get some of this!!

NEW FABRICS AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

When I was at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this past Saturday I found some new fabrics had just arrived.  I wanted to show them to you.  Above is Moda's Wren & Friends.  I love the color orange and can’t wait to use some of this beautiful fabric. It is also available in a Jelly Roll at the Shop.

This is Asian Batiks: Elementals by Robert Kaufman Fabrics.

Are the kids getting bored? Imaginative Hoffman Fabrics has just released Coming At You, a collection of 3D fabrics. These fabrics are amazingly fun on their own, but when you don special 3D glasses they become out of this world.

This is Moda's SoHo Chic.  I wonder if Judi A. used this fabric for her bag that I showed you yesterday?

NEW FABRIC AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

When I stopped in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop the other day I found these beautiful fabrics.  They are from Studio e and called Metropia.

OUT OF THIS WORLD FABRICS AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

NEW AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

I stopped in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop today to pick up some thread and look what all I found.  I couldn’t wait to show you some of the new fabrics and books that just came into the shop.  Of course, I have to show you my favorite first.  The above fabric is from Moda.  The yellow flower and the green fabrics are from the Giggles line. The pink, which I think looks fantastic with the Giggles line, is from the Bella solids line.  Can’t wait to make something with these.

Above are some of the new books that just came in.  Maybe I can find the perfect pattern in Simple Quilts From Me and My Sister Designs; or in Patchwork Plus by Geralyn J. Powers; or in Quilts Made With Love by Rachel Griffith.

Don’t you love these big bold flowers and matching stripes?  This line is called Garden View and is from Wilmington Prints.  I bet these fabrics would make a stunning quilt.

 Or maybe you can find the perfect pattern for these bold prints in one of these books.  I think I have to have that one about becoming a confident quilter.

 Maybe your taste runs more toward these soft subtle colors.  Aren’t these beautiful fabrics?    Just imagine how a quilt made with these fabrics would soothe your nerves.   This line is Sweet Serenade by Moda.

 I bet you could find the perfect pattern for those fabrics above in one of these wonderful books.

 Last but not least, Is MIA by Red Rooster Fabrics.

DO YOU LIKE TO COLOR?

Coloring is perhaps one of my favorite memories from childhood and today is still one of my favorite things to do. When I saw this beautiful quilt (above) I thought that now I can combine my two favorite things: coloring and sewing.

I found this bolt of fabric in the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

This is a close up of the fabric.  It is called Monochrome by Jenny Beyer for RJR Fabrics.

 This is a close up of one of the blocks in the quilt above.  I understand that crayons were used on this fabric, but I’d like to try colored pencils, or maybe some fabric paint.  Whatever I do, I bet it will be lots of fun. 

OF INTEREST:  Enjoy boldly painted plywood quilt blocks on historic barns and buildings when you travel the Vicksburg Quilt Trail.  You can travel through the scenic countryside and visit the quaint town of Vicksburg, Michigan.  Depending on when you go, it might be a good time to enjoy the beautiful fall colors too.  For further information contact the Vicksburg Quilt Trail at 269-329-04811.

NEW AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

 Who wants to think about Santa and Christmas when it is hot and humid?  Well, really, now is the time to think about the upcoming holidays.  It takes time to make all those pretty holiday items and gifts.  If you don't want to start the actual sewing, now is at least the time to start thinking about what you want to make and draft a plan.  I found just the thing to help you with that planning.  This adorable pattern just arrived at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  It is Jolly Old Saint Nick by Art To Heart.  You can make a 60” x 61” quilt, or make a pillow.  I thought three of these blocks would make a darling table runner, don’t you?

 Aren’t these frogs adorable?  I love frogs.  This is part of the Timeless Treasures Kidz line.  Look at all the coordinating fabrics.  Check these out at the shop.

 This is a close up of those cute little frogs.

 I think I’ve shown this fabric before, but I don’t think I saw these coordinating fabrics with it.  This line is Bugolicious from Blank Quilting.

 This is a close up of the bugs, but check out that stripe in the picture above.  I love that too!

I also saw a new must-have book.  Angles with Ease:  Simple Solutions to Kaleidoscope Quilts is by Heather Mulder Peterson for Anka’s Treasures.  I can’t wait to try some of these exciting patterns.

WHAT'S NEW AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP?

What’s new at the Attic Window Quilt Shop?  Lots! That's what!  Above are Strips by Blank Quilting.  Each package has 44 strips.  I turned one on its side so you could see all the beautiful colors included in the package.

New also are these Mimi Charm Squares and Jelly Rolls by Moda.

There are several new bolts of fabric in from Timeless Treasures.  I didn’t see a name on the bolt, but these are beautiful fabrics. I love the modern look of the black stitching on those leaves.

These are also from Timeless Treasures.  Sorry that you can’t see the coffee design on the lighter fabric, but these two go together.  Wouldn’t these make up into darling mug rugs?

I love this line.  Here Comes Santa is by Red Rooster Fabrics.

Studio e has the Chilly Silly Snowmates.  The squares at the top are part of a panel that goes with this line.

There are new books and other new fabrics in at the store.  I just didn’t have time to take pictures of them all as I had to get to class!  Stop by and take a look!  We’d love to see you there.

NEW AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Chris, owner of the Attic Window Quilt Shop is just sitting around hand quilting this beautiful wallhanging while she waits for you to stop by and pick up some of the beautiful fabrics that are arriving daily.

 

There are plenty of Turnovers and Charm packs available.  Above, is Moda’s Sassy and Stitched In Color.  These bright colors look good enough to eat!

Also by Moda are Papillon and Sassy charm packs.  (No wasted time cutting when you use the Sassy Turnover and Sassy Charm pack to make a quilt.)

For those with more traditional or patriotic tastes, check out Sandhill Plum, 1862 Battle Hymn, and Prairie Paisley, all by Moda.

And look at the beautiful colors in these Stone Chips charm squares by Northcott.  Wouldn’t they make a stunning quilt!

NEW FABRICS!!

New fabrics at the Attic Window Quilt Shop just in time for summer!

This bright whimsical floral from the Knock Knock line by Henry Glass & Co. would be perfect for a tote bag. I love thinking about new projects.

 

I think the Children at Play line from Michael Miller would make an adorable little girl’s dress or quick quilt that uses this feature fabric in large blocks. 

The shop receives boxes of new fabrics, books, supplies daily.  There’s always a reason to stop by the shop. There is something for everyone!

UPDATE:  Just wanted to remind everyone that Knotty Girls meets tonight at the Attic Window.  Bring your show and tell!

The Scrap Happy Bee meets Saturday at 10 a.m. the shop. Buffie will be talking about organizing your scraps and will distribute a pattern that is a great way to use up those scraps.
