Sunday, while most people were downtown celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, Vickie and I went to the Stars Over The Thornapple Quilt Show in Hastings, Michigan. It was a wonderful show and I can’t tell you how surprised we were as we walked down an aisle and saw this quilt. Why were we surprised? In 2009, Vickie and I participated in a Swap Hop hosted by Jane’s Fabrics. As I recall, there were so many people participating in this swap, that Jane divided us into groups of 12. Since we sent our 12 blocks to Jane to be redistributed and sent to the other people in our group, we had no idea that someone else from Michigan was participating, especially since this swap included people from around the world.
Seeing this quilt with our blocks in it was a pleasant surprise. We were fortunate in that we got to meet the woman from Michigan who participated in the swap and put the above quilt together. I’m ashamed to say that my blocks are still in the “to-do” pile. Now I’m motivated to get busy on my “Halloween” quilt.
On Another Note: Sew Lux Fabrics has a tutorial for an Easter Basket. It’s not too late!
Until next time,

SPOOKTACULAR BLOCKS
Jane over at Jane’s Fabrics is hosting the Spooktacular quilt block swap. We were divided into groups of twelve. A few of us exchanged blocks with someone in another group. Two people have been gracious and shared their block with me. I got so excited that I had to share them with you. The spooky house on the left is from Marcel at Aunt Pitty Pats. Don’t you just love those vibrant colors and the house shape? The ghost is from Sadie from Summer Sadie. Isn’t this smiling ghost the cutest! Thanks so much gals for sharing. (PS: Go over to Sadie's site. You have to see the fantastic pictures she has of her new "pet." It's worth the trip as they are awesome!)♥
Craft Gossip has a free pattern for a kitty, dog, or owl doorstop.

The heat has hit us here in Michigan today. It is HOT!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

DIG THESE SPOOKY SHOES
I’ve had such a good time making these witch’s shoes for Jane’s Spooktacular Halloween Swap that I just had to show them to you. Of course I got all the fabrics at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. (How do you like the baggy hose?)
Each one is a little different, as I was using up my scraps. There are 12 of us in each group. I’m in group 5 and am anxious to see what others are doing. I will post this pattern in September for you who are not in the swap and would like to make a little Halloween wallhanging of your own. ♥
Have you ever made a mouse pad? Yes, you can run your mouse over this star point block with no problems. Check it out at Quilted Paradise.
