LEARN SHUTTLE TATTING AT THE ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Have you ever wanted to learn how to do Tatting?  I remember watching my mother make the most beautiful doilies.  It seems that the ones I liked best were the ones she tatted.  Her shuttle would just fly.  She tried to teach me, but I could never get the hang of it.  We can learn now by taking Diana's beginning Shuttle Tatting class at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

Diana's Beginning Shuttle Tatting class is Friday, October 14 from 10 a.m. to noon.  Above is what you will learn to make.  It is amazing to me!  Call the shop to register and get a supply list.

Diana, who teaches Tatting at the Attic Window Quilt Shop has asked me to post this announcement:
  • Could you please remind anyone interested in continued tatting that we have a time set up for the 3rd Thursday morning 10-12 (this week). New information or techniques will be presented and help will be given for where ever a student is in their learning progress. Get inspired by other tatters through show and tell.
  • As this is a new offering we will also be discussing preferred day, time, frequency, and direction of instruction the group is looking for. If a student cannot make it at this scheduled time, but would be interested in joining or are looking for individual instruction, please contact the shop.
  • I will continue to offer individual and small group beginning tatting classes as needed. They just have to contact the shop and leave a phone number where they can be reached so I can call them and schedule something.

Check out this adorable tatted angel.  Vickie S. started taking Diana’s Tatting Class and made the above angel. Wouldn’t it be perfect decorating the tree or a package?  Watch the calendar on the sidebar for Diana’s next Tatting classes.
Looking for a way to decorate for the holidays?  Misti made these darling chair covers.  They are sure to add that festive touch to any room.  She said she didn’t have a pattern.  She just took measurements and put the pieces together.  She did a great job on those bows too!

NEW CLASS:
  • Vickie S. will have a One Block Wonder class on Monday, December 15th from 10:00-4:00.
  • I also understand that there will be a new project of the month starting in January, as well as a new Seasonal sampler series, and lots of new classes.  Watch for details on following posts.

NEW...LEARN TO MAKE THIS...AND MORE

NEW! Take this Beginning Shuttle Tatting class at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Thursday, October 16th, with Diana A.  Here is what she says about this new class.

The class consists of two 2-hr sessions.  You may choose from afternoon or evening.
Session 1 is Thursday Oct 16 from either 3-5 or 6-8.  This session will focus on learning the basic knot and how to make rings, chains, picots, and joins using a variegated thread.  Begin a length of simple edging that can be taken home to continue practicing with.  We will also discuss what each student wants to work on in the second session.
Session 2 is Thursday October 23 from either 3-5 or 6-8. In this session they will learn how to determine the amount of thread they need for a project, additional knot techniques, adding new threads, and how to finish off threads. Each student will be able to work on a project of their choice such as a snowflake, bookmark, and finer lace edging.   Additional sessions may be scheduled as students progress or have questions.  If someone wanted to learn but Thursdays don't fit their schedule they should contact the shop and leave their name and phone number and I will call them to try and schedule a mutually agreeable time.
Learn to make a Quilt-As-You-Go on Monday, October 13, from 10-4, with Caroll.
Make this striking Four Patch Fun quilt on Monday, October 20th, from 10-4, with Vickie S.
Saturday, October 25th, from 10-5, you can make this charming London City Bag with Lee Anne.  Wouldn’t it make a wonderful Christmas gift!

As always, call the shop to register for a class and get a supply list.  Hope to see you there!

  • Wednesday, October 8, and again on Saturday, October 11, the Happy Scrappers meet. Come sew with us and enjoy the fun.
