NEW DIGITAL FABRIC AT ATTIC WINDOW

New fabrics have arrived at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  The Naturescapes line by Northcott includes two new digital panels.  These thoroughbred horses are fantastic.

And check out these deer!  This digital panel Heading for Cover is also by Northcott.

The above fabrics are also in the line that can be found at the shop.  You can also go to the Northcott website here and find free patterns for using the panels and fabric.

Winter is the time to sew.  A Stitch In Time by Northcott, is also new at the shop.

TIP FOR MAKING DRESDEN BLADES

I saw this on Instagram the other day and Stephanie Peterson graciously said I could re-post her hot tip for my readers. Stephanie is participating in the Bee In My Bonnet's Sweetie Pie Sew Along. This calls for making lots of those Dresden  blades.  I think you will find it helpful.  Read below what Stephanie said:

"Here is a little hack I used to help me with those Dresden plates I was making. I adapted this from a tip I saw on Sewing With Nancy. On one side of a piece of card stock, I drew a 45-degree angle from the corner. I lined up the seam in that angle."

"On the other side of the card, I also drew a 45-degree line. I measured down to where the bottom of the blade would be. The width of the bottom of my blade was 1". So I drew .5" on either side of the center line so I could center the bottom of the wedge too. Then, I laid it down on the ironing board and pressed. This helped me get a nice 45-degree angle on each tip and the blade going straight. These blades are kind of long, and things could go wonky still by just lining up that little seam in the back. I think this really helped everything fit together nicely and for the block to lay flat when I was done with it. I hope this helps!! Thanks to Nancy for a great tip!!"

FOUR NEW SAMPLER QUILTS BEING OFFERED

Be sure and attend Sampler this Saturday and all this month at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  While there you can see the blocks for one of the Sampler Quilts being offered this year.  As stated in a previous post, this Quilt Sampler is called Forest Floor.  There will be four different Sampler kits offered at the Attic Window this year, all starting in March.  Vickie S. is making the sample for the shop.  Above you can see more of the blocks she made and the beautiful fabric that will be used in this quilt.  This Sampler does not start until March, but you can see these blocks and fabrics and what else is being offered when you attend the wrap up of the 2016 Sampler.  The first Session this month is Saturday, Feb. 4th at 9:30 a.m.  There are also Sampler sessions on Monday, Feb. 13 and Wednesday, Feb. 15.
