2014 SAMPLER CLASS BEGINS AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

The first 2014 Sampler class met Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above is a close up of the block we will make this month.  Chris announced that we will continue to meet monthly at 9:30 a.m. and that there would be only one square a month (whew, making three last year took some doing to stay caught up!) Chris distributed directions for the various settings so we can plan ahead.
The ladies above show the four different fabric kits that are being offered for this sampler quilt.  It was difficult to choose, but I decided on the 30s fabrics.
Vickie D. showed us her latest finishes.  Above is the Court House Steps baby quilt that she made for a friend.  Love those bright colors!
This is Vickie’s Irish Chain.  It is Queen size and beautiful.  (Sorry about that waste basket in the front)
This pattern is Fire Escape by Atkinson Designs.  It is also Queen size.  The pattern can be found at the shop.  Wow! What wonderful quilts.   Keep an eye on the calendar for Vickie’s classes on these beautiful quilts.

DON’T FORGET:
  • The Heart of Winter Tour is February 8th.  Call the shop to make your reservation as space is limited and the bus is filling up fast!
  • Check the calendar on the sidebar for all the upcoming classes.  There are lots of new ones being offered.  Even though I made a couple project bags during Craft day a few years ago, I’m going to attend the Project Bags class on Jan. 14th from 6-9 as I’ve had several people asking me to make them one.  There is nothing like taking a class to keep you from procrastinating.
  • A Stitch-In with a Mystery Block will be held Saturday, Jan. 18th from 10-5.
  • You won’t want to miss the Easy Heart Ornament class on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 1-2.
  • So many of you have asked about this – A Folded Star class will be held Thursday, Jan. 23 from 1-4.
  • You can’t have too many bags!  Lee Ann is teaching a Strip Street Bag class on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 10-3.
  • For those who just like to sew, come sew with us when we have another Stitch-In on Friday, Jan. 24, from 10-5 and/or the UFO Day on Monday, Jan. 27th, from 10-5.
  • As always, call the Shop to reserve your spot.
ON ANOTHER NOTE: Quite Play has a Sew Kitschy Paper Piecing BOM.

Until next time,

Stay Calm! Stay Kind! Stay Positive!

Generosity has no bounds. Above are the women in the Quilts For Kids group at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. Left to right, Henrietta, Phyllis, Nancy, Carol, Karen. These women donate their time, fabric, money once a month to make quilts for kids who have cancer.
